EKWB EK-Quantum Velocity 2 CPU Water Block, AM5, D-RGB, Nickel + Acetal

This is a great block, performs excellently, looks great. However, two things to keep in mind as a buyer-1- It's installed in a very strange way where you have to place the cooler with the standoffs on your board and then stick a hex key into the standoff through the motherboard's socket hole to tighten it. It's very hard to describe and not the easiest mounting method, however anyone with experience mounting coolers shouldn't have an issue.2- FLOW DIRECTION MATTERS. On page 14 of the installation manual it labels one hole as "inlet" and one hole as "outlet". From what I've read online there's a rather significant performance hit if you don't follow this and I had to change my loop around a bit to accommodate it.Other than that, works great, no complaints. Obviously there's all the controversy with EKWB and speculation about its financial state and future solubility, but that hadn't come to light when I bought this and I have no complaints about the product itself.

The no-visible-screws design of this waterblock is just beautiful. It performs quite well, especially given AMD's unreasonably thick AM5 heatspreader - keeps a 7950X CPU at 45 C steady under load without heroic cooling measures.However, you must remember that after you install your motherboard, you will not be able to take the waterblock off and flip it around / connect hoses / mess with it without taking out your motherboard (or being a lucky person whose case has a hole in the motherboard tray behind the CPU). That's in no way an issue with the design, just a word to the wise.

The block is very well made as per usual from EKWB, but the screws that fasten it to the motherboard are tad fragile and can easily break. I think they knew this and included an extra fastener in the box which was nice. The tool that is used to install the fasteners could be the culprit as it didnt quite fit in the holes on my motherboard so I ended up using the IFixit kit I had to install the block. Overall it's a great product that I recommend any enthusiast to add to their loop.

Clean and refined look. Waterblock feels high quality. Paired with Thermaltake fittings. The rgb led is subtle but bold, pluggs in directly into Asus Rog x670e-7 rgb header and pairs with ROG software.Idle temps around 40-50c gaming 60-70c.Highly recommend.
