Heavy and very well made. I use this to anchor my bike to a column in my parking lot. It’s not something I’d want to travel with due to the weight, but it’s good to leave in place. As far as the locking mechanism, I’m no expert but it seems decent. Any lock can be broken if the thief want it badly enough. I pair this with a disc lock with a motion sensitive alarm. Hopefully that’s a good enough deterrent.

Recently had a burglary, so was looking for the most secure lock I could find to prevent more bicycles to be stolen. This item does not disappoint. Seriously heavy and the quality is superb. Used to buy the kryptonite locks, but they cut them with angle grinders easily. This lock, at least, is thicker, and I'd have a harder time cutting through the chain itself.

My neighbor witnessed three big dudes with a van messing with this lock on my Honda Navi. It was parked on the streets of LA overnight; they obviously considered stealing my bike but didn't most likely due to this lock. I also had a cheap lock on the rear wheel and a 110 db alarm. Cheaper than comprehensive insurance, I highly recommend for cheap motorcycles like the Navi. If it were a more expensive bike I'm sure it would be worth it for them to go through a couple angle grinder discs.

Bought this to secure my expensive, new hunting Ebike which weighs almost 100lbs! This truly massive lock is a little excessive to use everyday as I live in a rural area and will only leave my bike unattended in town for short periods. But if I'm going to park it in the back-country for hours on end while camping or while scouting deer or elk, I will definitely use this lock. I'll also use it to secure my expensive portable generator because due to its size and weight this is more appropriate as a stationary lock.

I love this lock for my motor scooter. It's intimidating, very heavy, long, with huge faceted links in a noose formation, and a Safe Secure rating of Diamond. If I were a thief, I'd take one look and think, "Not worth the trouble."The length allows me to lace through my front tire, around the iron stair post, back through the tire, and I then put the U of the lock around the fork -- locking not just through the wheel, but to the wheel itself. While I still use other theft deterrents (throttle lock, another chain lock, and an alarm/wheel lock), with the Kohlburg I feel more sure than ever that my motor scooter is safe.I don't carry it with me, I leave it wrapped around the post where I park, and rely on my back-ups when out and about, so the weight isn't an issue for me.I live in intown Atlanta, and have had three motor scooters stolen over the years. They won't get this one!

This chain and lock are beyond compare. The sheer weight and appearance will surely make a thief look for easier pickings. It would take an angle grinder along with great determination and quite a bit of time to defeat either the chain or lock. Very impressive!

Just lifting this chain to put it into place lets you know that it's a seriously solid and secure and the beefy u-lock makes this set a quality addition to keeping things exactly where you left them securely.
