This was a great price, and quick to install and worked with the 4tb SSD I needed to recover.

I had an extra SSD lying around and I found this on Amazon. I’ve been using that drive/enclosure combo for at least the last month or so and it works perfectly and takes up almost no space. Also… No fan noise.

Very light, strait forward to plug-play.

Some USB enclosures for hard drives / SSD's can be slow. The speed on these is faster than other enclosures I have used in the past. These were easy to set up, and get going. I like the clear cases, I can tell what drive is in what case. No tools needed everything just snaps together. A quality product.

Recently replaced a 2006 laptop in which I had replaced a small hard drive with a SSD several years ago. Put the SSD in this enclosure, so now have a fast external drive for backups. The case snaps apart, the drive slips into the socket, case snaps back together, plug the cable into your computer port and it immediately recognizes the external drive. I can't test the speed but very little lag time in any file access. I got the version with the type C port since my new laptop has a Thunderbolt port and I will be able to use a type C male-male cable for maximum speed capability. Obviously can't comment on life expectancy. Very good value as a way to make use of used SSD for external drives. The SSD should consume very little power to operate, but the case is not warm at all during operation. The only slightly warm temperature I felt was around the LED light showing the unit was in operation. I am very pleased with the cost and performance of this unit so far.

Slide it open. Insert drive. Add (included) sticky foam padding, if necessary. Put cover back on. Plug into the Windows PC. Everything works as it should and you can't beat this price.

I thought I lost my external hard drive for good when it dropped on the floor and stopped responding to my laptop. Thankfully a simple swap out to this case saved me the trouble of recovering years worth of files. Excellent purchase!
