Over many years I have had 3 of the Coleman Instant up tent. All are the 6 person tent rather than the 4 person in this case. To keep it waterproof you will need to get the additional Rain Fly cover for the tent. If not any rain will penetrate through the seams, this is why the rain fly is sold separate. As for the tent base, I have on occasion had the tent in standing water, after a heavy rain fall. Even with water lapping at the base of the tent, the inside remained dry. If car camping, I recommend this tent.

I own my Tent since 2014 and I have to buy fab seal gold to put on my Tent for more waterproof and Rain cover too and Buy an inside Carpet too and Underlay Sheet to put the Tent on top to keep the Tent Floor from damage, I have learn most the problem and I managed to sort it had no problemsTill forget to take the pegs out before folding the tent up :C that have to buy a spare partBuy fab seal gold this work Best just put it on two times and not inside and need to open to allow the air to flow thru inside the tent to stop the inside from getting too much Condensation and Damp, don't put anything against the side wall this can get wet on the side

sadly, Its Faulty and Leaks: (we had 2hr of mild wind and continuous rain on Friday 4th June 2021)So disappointed with Coleman's lack of Quality control!The stitching leaks under every window I guess its the connecting to the groundsheet to the tent fabric as it has no weather sealant..I love the 60second Telescopic metal poles but fails the most basic requirement of a "weather-Tec" tent

Coleman is one of the biggest tent manufacturers in the world. I have had a number of their tents over the years including some of their excellent popupsAlthough easy to use (and it doesn;t come with the rain fly which is extra) it suffer from the problem that it basically leaks really badly. I've had 1970's canvas tents that worked better.On my last trip, it rained a lot. Not heavy, well within the advertised spec, but persistent for hours. The tents just let it poured in through the seams. They are supposed to be welded. My arse they are. Everything got wet, pillow, bedding, carpet, socks, shoes, anything near ground level. Huge puddles in the corners in the morning.Totally unacceptable from Coleman. If I wanted to get wet I'll buy a cheap tent from Aldi! - Actually, that would do better.

So I used it once and it was light rain for about an hour that night. Next day woke up with water all on the ground sheet and side walls. I am not sure if it was from my breath (condensation) or a leak, the design of the tent may make condensation a problem, I just know the ground sheet and walls were soaked. I'll give it 3 stars because if it is the design that caused it then it's a bad design IMOUpdate: ok went camping and it rained for 2 hours and walls of tent were soaked and water was dripping from centre of roof. So really bad fail and a complete waste of money. Do not buy!

I am very disappointed, to have purchased this tent (after extensive research) and find IT LEAKED RAIN after my first camping trip. In every corner rain came in, not a huge amount like in some photographs. I checked all the seams and looked for holes. I paid a whacking £200 for the tent and can see it has increased to £300. I purchased this long before the summer in preparation and am now stuck with a tent I can probably not return. I watched video's of this tent being pitched in the snow and the reviewer being really impressed with its capacity to withstand the elements. I love the design and when its standing in the camp field it looks awesome. Mine is brown and black looks like Darth Vaders Head. Its gorgeous HOWEVER.... One would expect more from COLEMAN. Beware buying if your planning on vakay where it rains.
