Solid Pick.
I’m giving these 4.5 stars because it was difficult to find remote controlled, timer-function, votive candles that are made with real wax. The plastic candles look terrible in my opinion. These are made from molded real wax. The top is clearly from a mold but has an irregular shape to mimic a real burned-down candle. They are all exactly the same, but I challenge anyone but me to notice that. I’m happy with the look both in and out of glass holders.I plan to have them come on nightly for 6 hours per evening throughout the holiday season. I bought spare batteries just incase the ones that come with them are sub par. If the batteries suck, I will update and deduct a star.So I actually have three sets of real wax timer candles going in my house right now. I’ve included a comparison photo. The tallest candle Is Northern Lights candle from QVC. The second candle is Members Mark from Sam’s Club. The third is a votive from this set. The last is a plastic Dollar General tea light. So here’s how these break down in each category:COLOR and BRIGHTNESSAll of my candles are labeled as “warm white.” This set is solidly in the middle of the pack with the Sam’s candles being brighter white and the QVC being more yellow and dim. I think these are on the mark for the “warm white” descriptor. They are also solid middle of the pack brightness. In the comparison photo, they don’t look a lot brighter than the Dollar Store tea light, but believe me, they are. They are sufficiently bright to light my mercury glass lanterns. There seems to be two brightness settings. All of my pictures show them at their brightest. That’s a bit of a shame since they’re only middle-of-pack as far as brightness goes at their brightest. If you’re going to have adjustable brightness, I would expect the high setting to really shine.REMOTEI’m really happy with the variety of setting options on the remote. You can set them to run on the timer for 2, 4, 6, or 8 hours (or skip the timer and stick to simple on and off buttons). You can also adjust the brightness and turn off the flicker. The remote works fine from a few feet away. It’s not going to work from across the room and it probably won’t catch all the candles at once. It’s fine though, pretend it’s a magic wand. All the remote sets are like that.FLICKER EFFECTThe flicker effect is present, however it is extremely subtle. Much less flicker than any of the other sets. With them grouped you can see it more as they flicker at different times. I’d like more flicker, personally, but it’s not something I am really concerned with. The really nice option that these have that NONE of the others have, is the ability to turn the flicker off. So if you don’t like the flicker, just set them to a steady light. I think that’s a great feature.SUMMARYThese are a solid pick. I think they’re just as good on quality as the more expensive Northern Light candle. I might have given them 5 stars, but that Sam’s Club set is just a seriously fantastic set. No ones beating that set out. I’m very happy with them. Also of note, I wanted more than six but less than twelve. So I ordered two of the six packs. This way I have two remotes so I can give the extras to my mom for her to use. Even if you want all twelve, I’d still pay more and get the extra remote. If these fail me, I will let you know. They have started burning on November 13th. I fully expect them to burn nightly through December.UPDATE 5 weeks later: Three of the eight candles I’ve had going for 6 hours every single night (on the timer feature) have dimmed to nothing and need new batteries. I ordered extra batteries though, so I’m fine with that. They’ll be switched out today. So those three had an approximate battery life of 5 weeks x 7 days x 6 hours = 210 hours not accounting for the timer battery usage. The other five candles are still goin strong.UPDATE 3 months later: I’ve had three of these coming on automatically every night for 6 hours per night for 3 months. The batteries last about a month I’d say. After that, they get progressively dimmer until they don’t show at all. Since the batteries are easily available on here for pretty cheap, I’m completely fine with that performance. I’ll be putting new batteries in this evening for another month of light.

Perfect option for my need
I have a number of small candle lanterns hung in the trees that border my patio and one on each side of my patio door. I had tried solar powered lights in the two by the door and to find a way to unobtrusively run electricity for night light bulbs to the ones in the trees but couldn't come up with a workable solution - not enough sunlight for the solar lights and no good way to get electricity to the others. Then I stumbled on these electric candles - I had never seen any that were this small and figured it was worth a try. I am glad I did. They are the perfect solution for my need - especially the lanterns in the trees since the only way to get real candles into them and to light them is to climb a ladder. With these, I put them in and can use the remote control and/or the timer to turn them on and off and with they flicker like a real candle so the effect is the same with a lot less hassle. I set them with the remote timer which couldn't be easier and they switch on and off at the same time every night. The remote makes it easy to adjust the on/off timing as days get longer which is really nice. I have only had them for a couple of weeks and so don't know how long the batteries will last, but so far after two weeks of being on for 4 hours a night, they are still going strong.

PREMIUM PRICED candles , the 10 out of 12 that GREAT. Company is not PREMIUM but la
These types of candles are a complete crapshoot . I honestly love the ide of them and have been searching for some that work right, look quality and put of a nice glow. These actually are almost PERFECT!! They work flawlessly, the battery life is impressive, they look well made.... why the 3 starts then? 2 of the 12 arrived and did not work. I switched the batteries and still the exact same 2 did not work. I had high hopes as the company emailed me thanking me for the purchase, encouraging me to email back if I had any issues.... which I guess you wouldn’t do if you never had issues but that’s a philosophy issue . Anyway I told them that 2 did not work , but the 10 that did I loved , and was actually planning on buying another 2 sets. Honestly they work so well and I’ve had such bad experience with some of these, 10 out of 12 candles working FLAWLESSLY was a purchase I was willing to live with. After I emailed the company back, which by the way the email they originally sent me also asked me to review my purchase, I expected some type of response . I waited in this review to give them a chance to attempt to rectify the situation, but alas they never even tried . All I have heard from them is crickets. So here is the review. If your willing to accept a good 15% loss of product on a purchase of candles like this that are honestly priced above the competitors, go right ahead. The ones that work are great. But when you charge 35$ and some companies on her charge 22$ for the same amount , to me it implies I’m gettin anbetter made product and a good quality company, which I’m always willing to pay for . That is something I have not seen. I think I’ll try some cheaper ones, if they have a failure rate of 15% I won’t fault them for it as much as I do these guys.Candles that work are outstanding , company itself tries to sell a premium product from a premium company but does not seem to want to be premium in any way but price. More disappointed in company than the candles
