Very glossy result, but darker than expected.
I did some balayage type highlights to my dark level 4 hair at home and used this as a toner. Highlights turned out well, and I'll admit I was sparing with the amount of lightening I did. I was DIYing it after all, and wanted to play it safe, but I definite got up to a light brassy color. Popped this on all over my hair with a level 8 developer. For some reason, while it was in my hair it felt horrible, like my hair was dry (it's not, all but the few highlighted pieces are virgin), but it came out super glossy and silky. But by the end my highlights were GONE as a country singer's wife. I didn't even leave it in as long as I was suppose to, maybe only 7-10 minutes without heat or a cap. My highlights were now the exact same color as the rest of my hair. My hair was so virginal looking that the Greeks came and asked if they could use it for a sacrifice. Maybe they weren't lightened enough with the bleach, I'll admit. Pretty hilarious, and a little sad. I know it will fade and they'll come back, though.

A little warmer than I preferred
I use Redken Shades EQ to tone my professional balayage every 8 weeks or so. My natural hair color is super dark and the lightened areas get brassy quickly. I love how SEQ makes it look and feel, and that it's easy enough that I can do it at home. I also like that the color fades out over time because it means no harsh lines as it grows out. I usually mix up my formulas, but this time I used 1 oz 8N (mojave) + 1 oz 6T + 2 oz processing solution. I thought the color was fine, but it was still a little warmer than I prefer. So far my favorite formula has been 1 oz 6T+ 1 oz 9b to really get those orange-y tones out of my hair.

Awesome! Saved me a trip to the salon
Ok wow. I got my hair highlighted about 6 weeks ago and with the ocean water, the sun, and the pool, it already turned such a brassy yellow orange color!! I didn’t want to have to go to the salon ago so I did some research and came across these Redkin eq shades. I researched on YouTube and the internet about which colors would work well with my hair (I have a medium color brown base for reference and my highlights were light brown/blonde). I bought Redken eq 8n, 9v, and 9b. Mixed one ounce of each color and added the processing solution and put on my whole head of hair for about 15 minutes ! And the color came out exactly as I wanted!! The 9v and 9b took out all the yellow and orange tones and the 8n added the light brown I wanted! Perfect!!!!!!!!! Saved me a trip to the salon and $$$$$$

Salon quality toner at home!!!
I am naturally a curly brunette but have been a blonde for 13 years. I have always gone to the salon to maintain my blonde hair.My hair dresser let me in on the secret “redken shades eq glosses” can I just say WOW!!! This product leaves ur hair beautiful w the color and shininess. I use 09v and my hair has a wonderful ashy tone to it. Beware that if your not a professional like me you have to time your processing exactly to the T if not ur hair will turn lavender. The ratio is 1:1 with the redken shades processing solution. I suggest between 5-10 minutes max. The longer you leave it the darker your hair will be. Be sure your hair is a light blonde to be able to capture the true color of this toner. I have used other shades of these toners on my daughter and can say that they all have the same moisturizing qualities. Really happy with this product and happy I can get rid of my brassy hair and prolonging my salon visits.

I have blond highlights and my hairdresser told me that the Root Touch-Up product I was using in between highlighting to cover grey regrowth contains metals and makes the highlights turn more brassy later on and my hair difficult to lighten to a cool blond. Since I love using the 09 Shades ...
I have medium brown hair with about 30% grey and I just used Mojave as a root cover successfully. I have blond highlights and my hairdresser told me that the Root Touch-Up product I was using in between highlighting to cover grey regrowth contains metals and makes the highlights turn more brassy later on and my hair difficult to lighten to a cool blond. Since I love using the 09 Shades EQ colors with clear to brighten and tone and my hairdresser does too, I thought I'd try the darker shade full strength 1:1 with the EQ processing solution using the Root Touch-Up applicator brush, being careful to keep it on the root only as best as I could. I was a little nervous because the color out of the bottle is a dark orange which seemed weird for a 'neutral' shade.I left it on almost 40 minutes under one of those disposable plastic caps and passed a warm blow dryer over it a few times. I rinsed well andwaited a couple of days before washing since it was clean before processing. I am so pleased it covered the stubborn grey as my hairdresser was sure it wouldn't. It is a nice neutral medium brown, I think a bit darker than the dark blond shown on the chart and after four shampoos it has not faded so I think it will last longer than the amount of time I'd re-do it due to regrowth. An economical and healthy option for blending greys.

Way Too Dark to be 8N
I am very familiar with this color and have used it many times. It will run a little darker but this one was way to dark, not an 8 at all it was more like a 6. This seller has faulty product or the wrong color is being put into the bottle. It could also be very very old but either way I would never ever buy this from this seller again. It’s two shades darker at least and horrible as a toner your highlights will not e en show. They should be ashamed.

Orange
I believe I received a bad product. It turned my level 10 highlights a lovely shade of pinkish/orange. 08N falls under the blue base category so something is off. The base on the product I received is warm. II have used shades EQ in the past and never had issues. I used too much to return it so it's a lose/lose situation for me. So...do a test strand.

Mojave is a tough color to use for blonde
Please ladies, do not use Mojave straight, do not use Mojave if you are looking for a blonde toner. This is not it. If you google/image redken mojave, you will not find blonde photos. It's a rich brownish blonde. I would never put it on straight either. In fact, I wouldn't put on any shades EQ straight, always with Clear. It sure does make your hair shine, but the colors are hard to attain straight - you end up spending a lot of money going this way because you need at least 2 colors, plus the clear, plus the developer! I buy my clear on eee bay.

Pretty good hair dye
This turned my bleached hair a dark/ medium blonde. But for once it wasn't muddy colored! I put some highlights in it to brighten it up and it's perfect. I have never used this color before but I really like it, and the smell isn't bad. I just thought it was weird how it was red as ketchup when it was processing but everything came out good 😁 it also didn't change my roots, that's a huge plus since I didn't want it to ( I am pretty sure this is a demi permanent)

Not really demi
Literally washed off after one wash, would not spend that much money again on the shades and just buy a different semi permanent toner.
