Great taste, low sodium...
I pay a bit extra for this chili crunch oil-- but it's well worth it to me. Only 45 mg of sodium per tbsp. Similar brands have over five times the sodium, or more. I can add a tablespoon or two to half a head of cauliflower (delicious-- I eat a lot of cauliflower) and only add 45 - 90 mg of sodium to my meal. It's also great with stir fried noodle dishes.

I love it.
I am a chili oil fiend. I have a large jar of Lao G.M. as well as a homemade Sichuan oil I make, in the fridge. But I wanted something else to alternate to every once in a while, so I can rotate depending on the dish. This stuff is so good. It's definitely unique in flavor; more umami and savory. I put it on everything lol. Doesn't matter the dish. The extra spicy is perfect. Though if you find Lao G.M. spicy, maybe don't go that hot. Regardless, if you're going for a change of pace, try it!

The flavor is great, but...
I've been buying this stuff for a few years now, love the flavor. But one thing that's always bothered me about it is the chili flakes are sometimes hard as wood... It's not like they melt in your mouth or soften up when used in cooking (say ramen). I often find myself having to spit out a few every time I eat, they're like tiny corn kernels and get stuck in my teeth. Just wish they were using a different grade dried chili pepper because I love everything else about it.

five out of five
This chili oil has really good balance of heat, salt and garlic; I think it's medium spicy for me, but my partner who has higher spicy tolerance thinks the spice is mild with a nice kick. My partner and I especially like to make spicy popcorn using this chili oil (make sure to use David Brian Gilbert method to avoid soggy popcorn with flavored oil like this). We also love using this as a condiment for Asian noodle dish or stir fry vegetables, or spaghetti! My partner has been adding this oil to everything he eats since we bought this oil, so it shows how delicious and versatile this chili oil is.I've had a handful of other Asian chili oils so I know what good one tastes like. Jungle Chili oil is fresh and tastes very good. For people reading this review, this chili oil is a must-try and you will be satisfied with your purchase!

Decent, but not something I'd buy again.
I was looking for a solution for a chili oil that I loved that was sadly discontinued and ordered this to try. I was hoping the shallots and garlic would make it at least similar to the one that I had previously from another brand but this was completely different and unfortunately was just not as good. It had a bit of a weird after taste, but the heat was decent. Not something that I'd order again, unfortunately.
