Solid product
Solid case( not made of plastic). Worked well multiple channel speakers. Easy setup. As other reviewers said, spring clips for terminals not easy to insert 14g wire. Be careful when wires too thick. No complains so far.

Works well. Using for two channels. Resistances are fine. Check your amp.
There’s some confusion regarding the protection circuit. There is a 10-ohm resistor wired in parallel with all the circuits when selected. If you bypass it, in “Single pair direct” mode, it just wires the connected speakers in parallel. For example: I have 8ohm and 6ohm speakers on mine (only using two channels) the 6 ohm speakers measure 4.7 ohms on their own or direct through this box. With the protection circuit enabled, the amp “sees” almost 8 ohms (passive resistance). Selecting both pair directly shows a 3 ohm passive load (the 8 ohm pair measured about 6 passively). There is a noticeable but not particularly significant drop in sound level if you compare the protection circuit on/off while live.Anyway, it works and it’s inexpensive but seems well built. It was able to accommodate good 14 gauge wiring, though I’d much prefer banana plugs to the dinky spring clamps, I can’t knock it for performance. If you have three or four pair of speakers or are running 4 ohm pairs, the protection circuit will come in handy. My amp handles the 3.5 ohm impedance of both fine so I don’t bother with it. It just complicates things for my wife and adds an unnecessary circuit, for my purposes.

Does the job
I have a yamaha RX-V675 with a powered zone 2. My house has speaker pairs in 4 locations (deck. kitchen, living room, and dining room) in addition to the main zone (family room). I'm not an audiophile so I had to research how to get the music to those locations. This type of device seems to be the only way. Hooking it up was very easy and the build quality is better than I thought it would be. Based on the price, I thought it would be cheap plastic but the outer casing is actually metal. I also like that it comes with little stickers so you can label the buttons. The only thing I noticed is that there can be some crossover or bleed through to a speaker pair even if it is not selected on the device. Now it could be how it's hooked up but I did double check the connections. It's not bad though. The bleed through sound is very quiet and I can eliminate it by turning the volume control knob (preinstalled when I bought the house) to that speaker pair all the way down. Again, I suppose this could be unique to my system or how it's hooked up. That being said, I would still buy this item again. Works well and does the job it's supposed to.

Great price / Well made
I bought this speaker switch to connect multiple Dual speaker pairs to a Sonos Connect:Amp. Since each speaker has an impedance rating of from 4 to 6 ohms and the Connect amp specifies an 8 ohm load I needed a switch with load protecting capability. I really only needed two channels not 4 but who knows... I now have provisions for future expansion. The unit seems well made, has a resonable size and works very well. One of the other reviews mentioned a problem with a stuck button but all of mine work great. The unit also has a protection overide feature that increases the volume if you only have one set of speakers selected. Just remember to turn protection back on if you turn on more sets of speakers. It would be nice if the system automatically managed the load protection; but, for the price, what should you expect.

Seems well-made, works well
This unit works as advertised, and it's solidly made. Sound pass through is as expected, and the whole thing has a quality look and feel to it, especially the buttons and connectors. The wire connectors took 14 gauge wire, and were easy to use, and seem to hold well. I'm completely happy with this unit. I like that the impedance protection for your amp is on by default, and you have to actively override it by pressing a button IF you are going to just use one channel and want max volume. Now that I've seen the quality, I am wishing I'd spent the extra $ for the model with individual volume controls.

Appropriate- but no Dinosaur. Very Bisony construction.
Works great and no problems yet. Have had no buttons stick yet or any problems. If you have a problem with this thing it might be user error or ineptness, assuming that is even a word. Seems beefy enough, maybe even bisony or elephanty, but that is a difficult comparison. I definitely can't say dinosaury because I was not on the earth with dinosaurs or at the least I have never seen one, but others claim they are still here; at least some species. Also should I use the term dinosary some may think I mean out-of-date as well as there are many species falling under the term dinosaur. Many of them are small vegetarians we are told.A huge wingspan bird did cross over the road in front of me one day, but I did not see it long enough to say if it could be a Pterodactyl or not. It was at least a ten foot span- I am crapping you negative. In other words; buy this monoprice selector as it is functioning fine. I will update as appropriate. Appropriate is my middle name.

Does what it says
Bought this to be able to switch between my interior and exterior speakers. It was the cheapest I could find that would do the basic job of being a switch. It works perfectly, and was easy to install.some useful info:- Can play any combination of sets of speakers at once.- Is passively powered by your stereo - only need to plug in the wires- Don't use wire thicker than 14 gauge because it wont fit through the holes into the back of the selector- Comes with handy labels for placing on the buttons for the different sets of speakers, so you don;t have to remember which set is plugged in to which switch.

First one was defective. had to order replacement
Replacement seems to work fine. A bit difficult for my thumbs to works in the small space needed. This would be better if it were bigger.
