Great recipes! Beautiful book!! Makes the GAPS Diet a breeze!
This book has been amazing! I had read the actual GAPS book cover to cover, took notes, underlined, highlighted, and read and re-read. It wasn't until I had this book, Heal Your Gut, that I was actually able to follow through with the intro diet. This book is just what I needed! Having attempted the GAPS diet 3 times and being unable to get further than a few days, I was about ready to call it quits. I just couldn't figure out what to eat and was getting tired of boiled meatballs. I preordered this book without knowing anything about it, but not really having any other gaps books available to me. I am so glad that I did!! I read the book cover to cover! It's beautiful, well laid out, and perfectly structured to walk you through the GAPS diet. I can't thank these women enough for writing it!Not only has it helped me, but it has also helped my 22 month old son in healing our guts and finally being able to properly absorb all the nutrients from the foods we've been eating. After a few rounds of antibiotics as a newborn, my sons gut was wrecked and he needed major gut repair. He ate every single meal that I made for him after following these recipes!! That is huge for a toddler!! He rarely ate anything I'd try to feed him without putting up a fight. With this book.. Success!!The recipes in this book are delicious and very easy to follow. You will be flying through the gaps intro with ease if you take the time to read this book and follow along with each stage. I can honestly say I never felt deprived. And I actually felt like it was Thanksgiving each day with all the great meals my son and I were getting to eat each day. My particular favorites on the intro were the turmeric and mushroom leek soups. I'd never cooked with either and now I really love those foods. So thankful for this book!! :) can't say thank you enough!!

Wonderful, Nourishing, Satisfying Recipes - Help For Suffering
I LOVE this cookbook! I go to it all the time. I love trying the recipes because they all turn out so well. These are seriously well put together recipes with very clear instructions. I also enjoyed reading the whole book and learning about their journey.I was reading the GAPS diet book by McBride with the plan of immplementing it for our daughters with autism. In the middle of reading it I began to have severe stomach distress. I had had some distress off and on for a couple of years but this pain was dibilitating and I was mostly fasting, because my stomach hurt so badly. I thought I would just go on McBride's diet suggestions when I came across this book and bought it immediately. The timing was perfect and I went through almost all the steps in the cookbook. The nourishment and healing were exceptional after I had been in that much pain and having mostly fasted for a week. I was scared to hurt again and the pace was perfect. This book made the diet so much easier. I do recommend reading McBride's book first if you are following the GAPS diet closely. It will make the diet aspect more clear. Hilary Boynton also recommends it.The recipes! They are so excellent! It has become my favorite cookbook and I have a lot of cookbooks. The fish soups are wonderful! We all love fish soup now. "Halibut in Lemon Thyme Broth" and "Coconut Curry Fish Stew" are two recipes that we have tried and love. All 10 of us. That is saying something. My husband's favorite recipes are "Creamy Cabbage 'Casserole' with Chicken Thighs" and "Mexican Chicken Hearts". The kids really like them too. The cabbage and chicken thighs "soup" tastes even better a day or two later after all the flavors have blended and it is such an easy recipe. He also loves the "Hot Nicky" fermented hot sauce. The salmon patties- delicious! I've made many other recipes and have more recipes on my list to try.The very best things about these recipes is that after you eat them, you feel so nourished, very satisfied, and well. Many, many thanks, Hilary Boynton!!

beautiful book and comprehensive information
The book explains the science before GAPS nutrition and includes plenty of recipes for various meals, I feel like this is the only cookbook I want to use exclusively for a longer time. Much appreciation for the beautiful cover!

Don't attempt the GAPS diet without this book.
This book is fantastic. I purchased this along with Dr. McBride's GAPS book. (Also, Dr. McBride wrote the forward in this book, so I knew it was in line with her direction of the diet.) THIS book is what got my family through the intro of GAPS. (We are a family of 5 which includes three boys ages 10, 6, and 3.) The actual GAPS book by Dr. McBride was vague on exactly what foods to eat and when to eat them. This book breaks down exactly what foods to start with on Stage 1 and lays out what foods to add in the following stages along with great recipes for each stage. If it weren't for this book, I would have been lost. They also clearly explain and show pictures of how to make the basic items of the GAPS diet including the differences between stock and broth, milks, and nuts. With the layout of this book, I also was able to make a poster board with pictures of foods separated by each of the stages 1,2,3,4,5,6. It made it easy for my boys to reference what foods they were allowed to eat and when they were allowed to add other foods. It gave them something to look forward to. If you plan on starting GAPS, especially for multiple people, grab this book to help you breeze through. I honestly feel like this book kept me organized and informed.
