PH2022Plus Waterproof Digital PH Meter for Water Hydroponics Food Brewing w/Portable Toolkit Combo, 0.01 Resolution

I spend hours each week maintaining my salt water aquariums. Shaking glass vials and trying to guess what color the water turned is not enjoyable. I am on a quest to simplify the tedious parts of tank husbandry.I found the pH meter pH2022Plus by Poniie to help with my most performed water test. What used to take 20 minutes twice a week now takes no more than 30 seconds.The first thing I did with the pH meter, even before calibration, was to take it apart. I wanted to see what was going into my salt water tanks. I am really impressed with the steps Poniie took to ensure that nothing toxic could leach into my tanks. There are rubber o rings at all three removable parts. Even if the meter were to be fully submerged into my tanks, I’m confident all my coral would be fine.Poniie does sell two versions of this pH meter, one with a resolution of .05 with an accuracy of .1 and this unit which is the professional version with a resolution of .01 and an accuracy of .05. Since I’m dealing with living creatures, I need accuracy.Inside the box I found a heavy duty plastic see thru storage box which has locking tabs to keep it secure and a hang tab so it comes ready to hang on a peg hook.Along with the probe I found 3 pH 4.00 buffers and 3 6.86 buffers to help calibrate the pH meter. Also are the instructions and 2 bottles of storage solution. I like that the buffers were each split into 3 separate pouches enabling me to set two aside for future calibrations.It came with the batteries preinstalled in a water tight compartment at the back end and the probe is stored in kci storage solution inside a cap with a sponge at the end. Be sure to keep solution on the sponge so you do not have to recalibrate at each use.Calibration was easy by putting the 6.86 and 4.00 solutions each in 250ml of distilled water. Be sure the powder from 1 of the 6.86 and 1 of the 4.00 buffers are fully dissolved in the glass. Make a third glass with just distilled water for rinsing.Turn the probe on, swirl it a few times in the distilled water, press the cal button until the lcd display reads SA1. Put the probe in the 6.86 solution and tap the cal button. Swirl it slowly while the three numbers on the display become steady. Then tap the cal button again, swirl the probe in the distilled water to clean it off. Put in the 4.00 solution and tap cal again, and swirl slowly. Once the three numbers on the display become steady tap the cal button and you are done.I then rinsed it and took it to my aquarium that I keep as close to 8.2 pH as I can. The probe read 8.19. One nice feature is the hold button. I have to remove the probe out of the water to read one of my tanks, by tapping the H button it will freeze the reading on the display.I'm impressed. No more spending 20 minutes a few times a week testing my aquariums. Now just pop the cap off, give it a quick rinse and wait a few seconds for the reading. Why have I waited years to make life simple?

I purchased an expensive Milwaukee meter back in the day and it never worked well... the costly electrodes constantly failed and needed replaced. I recently bought one of the cheap blue ones and it wouldn't calibrate correctly... it recognized each solution wrong I.E. 6.89 as 4 and 4 as 0So I bought this one and its been working great for months. I use it on nearly an everyday basis to measure the pH of my plants water and runoff

I purchased this to use in my home brewing of beer. I calibrate the pH meter before each brewing day but how do I know the calibration values are correct? For the 6.86 solution (SA1) I get 177 and for the 4.0 solution (SA2) I get 229 for calibration values. Shouldn't I see values close to the 6.86 and 4.0 solutions? I clean with distilled water and the meter sits upright in its storage solution. When I measure the pH of my house tap water I get a pH of 7. According to my local water report and email from the Water District Mgr, my tap water is 8.4pH to 8.8pH. And on brewing day when I read the pH of my post mash I get 6pH to 6.6pH. Even adding salts to my tap water has had little affect on the post mash pH. Is this meter accurate or a malfunction. How do I know this meter is accurate?

As an expert hobbyist growing cacti, I rely on being able to accurately test the pH of my tap water for proper acidification whenever I water them. My pH meter of choice had been the Milwaukee Instruments pH 600, but when my last one's probe crapped out, I decided to find something else. Compared to the pH 600, the Poniie PH2022Plus is not only a much better design, its 2-point calibration produces more accurate readings. The 1-star reviews are probably coming from people who don't know how to follow the instruction manual in detail. Details matter.

I’ve relied on pH strips in the past to test for accuracy. This digital meter eliminates the need for that since it’s quick and easy to use. The strips will now be used as a back up. I use this for my fish tank and to check the acidity level of water for my citrus plants. Great product!

I am not experienced with this type of tool so I found the instructions were not good enough to easily pick up this product and quickly use it. Because of this, I haven’t gotten past the original setup part so I don’t yet know how well the product actually works. The product appears very well made and I like that it comes with a solid protective case. Considering what it is supposed to do, if it does work well it would be worth the money but again, the instructions are lacking for novice users.
