A Gripping and Passionate Page-Turner!
Crossed by Emily McIntyre is an absolute must read. From the first chapter, I was hooked by the characters and the intense, emotional journey they embark on. McIntyre’s writing is captivating, with vivid descriptions and dialogue that feels raw and authentic. The story masterfully balances heart-pounding suspense with a deeply emotional love story, keeping you on the edge of your seat while tugging at your heartstrings. The characters are flawed yet relatable, and their growth throughout the book is incredibly satisfying. This book isn’t just a romance, it’s a rollercoaster of emotions that will leave you breathless. If you’re looking for a story with depth, passion, and unforgettable moments, Crossed is a must-read. I couldn’t put it down.

One of the best of the series for me!
I was unsure how Emily was going to make a book based on the hunchback of Notre-Dame sexy, but god that was 🥵🥵🥵Cade was a hot murderous stalker… with a French accent and I think that was enough for me. I may get the audiobook of this one just for all the French nicknames. The plot was entertaining and I couldn’t really bring myself to stop reading! Some aspects were a bit ridiculous at points, but I think that’s dark romance for you 😅And I loved Cade and Amaya together 💗💗 Their slow burn was just perfect 🔥Favourite moments:- Amaya getting told off for taking the lords name in vain… whilst banging a priest- “Every time you hurt yourself, you hurt me too. Please stop hurting me.”- The nicknames, petite pécheresse/little sinner and when it switched to mon trésor/my treasure 💗💗

It follows Father Cade, a holy man that dedicated his life to the church. There is a monster that lives inside him that seeks to be freed. Father Cade is asked to become the priest in Festivalé, Vermont where he wants to rid the town of evil. Amaya Paquette is known as Festivalé’s beauty. She cares her her younger brother and in the evening she transforms into Esmeralda who dances for a living. When Father Cade meets Esmeralda he is entranced by her beauty and is ultimately consumed her. She becomes a weakness that he cannot bare so he chooses to become her demise even if it means killing the only woman he has ever loved.Oh my gosh Father Cade 🙇🏽♀️, he is the definition of the word obsessed! I’m a sucker for when the guy falls first and he falls even harder trope and boy did he not disappoint! Amaya is such a strong FMC, doing everything in her power to care for her brother despite what every in the town thinks of her. My heart broke for both Amaya and Cade for what they both went through. I’m so happy that they were both able to find their salvation within one another they bother deserve to receive their happy ending. The chemistry between Cade and Amaya, the underlying tension throughout and the slow burn in this was just *chefs kisses*.This was just a fantastic read in this series. I love Emily’s writing and her world. I cannot wait to read the next instalment in The Never After series 💜⚠️ Please check tigger warnings before proceeding to read⚠️

yes yes yes!!!
I loved it.This is the best one out of the five, who knew I had a things for priests?!Cade & Amaya 🔥🔥🔥I loved the build up and the stalking elements.I loved the darkness but honestly I wanted a little more. Just more of them both and their deprived ways. I loved the Autism/neurodivergent storyline in this and you believed that Amaya would do anything for her brother.Yes there were parts you could guess but the hints are there for a reason…I’m sad now it’s ended.

Who knew I’d like a priest!
This is such an interesting book! I am not normally a fan of books with a lot if any type of religious story in. However, this book, this book was too forbidden and wow to care. What a really interesting take on Hunchback story. Couldn’t help but fall for the completely unhinged priest and seriously into ‘Esmeralda’ being a pole dancer take over the ‘gypsy dancer’ from the fairytale. Such an interesting and just morally grey book and loved it. This is the 3rd book in the Never After Series I have read. Hooked is by far my number 1 but I enjoy each book individually and haven’t been let down! Can’t wait to read the rest

Devoured within a day; didn't want it to ever end.
Mild spoilers ahead to allow review...This tale is a modern 'brothers Grimm' style retelling of the Hunchback of Notre Dame, setting itself a whole new niche where the villain gets the girl. This is a perfect blend of Demi Moores' Erin Grant, of 'Striptease' and her portrayal of Esmeralda. This book had me spellbound, unable to tear myself away. Much in the same way that Cade is pulled to the enchantment of Amaya. McIntires writing style is truly captivating, luring the reader to hang from each syllable in anticipation.Dustings of HoND nods add to the overall charm and nostalgia, acting as a base note to Mcintires slow burn forbidden love plot and it's twists of fate.I bought the other 4 books in the 'Never After' series as I was mid-read and will be buying 'Crossed' for all my friends.I've been looking to rediscover my literary genre of choice, and I've found it. Emily McIntire is incredible, in a league of her own.

Crossed
Very slow read. Took me a very long time. Got interesting on chapter 42 onwards for me. Had passion. Adventure. But in the never after series this is definitely my least favourite book thus far
