The item arrived broken the handle snapped off, but I used a nut and bolt to hold it together than halfway through our project. One of the plastic tops snapped off.

This tool works perfectly with Trex hidden fasteners. It took the guesswork out of the process. It allowed me to place the fasteners in the correct position, and kept them there. The supplied bit fit the screw heads perfectly. This is a must-have for installing Trex fasteners.

bought this thinking it would be beneficial, but we did the fastening quicker without it. It is helpful when you have a tendency to screw on an angle.

One side of the clip that holds the fastener broke the first day that I was using it. I am building a three level deck and the funnel shaped guide for the torx broke off before I completed the first section. Another problem in addition to the lack of durability is the thickness of it. I’m using joist tape and when the fastener is tightened it presses the tool against the tape so tightly that it is difficult not to tear the tape when removing the tool. I’ve ordered an actual trex brand replacement, hopefully it will be better.

This tool helps hold the fastener in place until it is secured. It works as designed and is worth the investment.
