Artistically Elegant, but not Practical as a Light Source
January 2004UPDATE: I'm super disappointed, after admiring this little chandelier for MONTHS, finally purchasing it, spending FOUR HOURS to assemble it properly only to get it installed to find out the thing doesn't put out enough light to make it practical for use. We hung it over our kitchen table but doesn't put out enough light to make it worth it. It glows blue (obvously), but feels like a dining room chandelier that has been dimmed to the lowest setting. If you flip the wall switch, the lights come on in daylight color setting, if you flip the switch off then back on again, the lights come on in warm white color setting. Neither one is adequate to light up the table area. Again SUPER DISAPPOINTED as I've loved and admired the photos of this chandelier for months before deciding splurge and actually purchase. Unfortunately I am going to have to replace it with something brighter which breaks my heart, not only because I love how this looks in the place where we've hung it, but also because I spent WAY TOO MUCH MONEY on this thing and won't be able to recoup any of it! I thought I would live with it for a while to see if we could stand it, but unfortunately the low-light issue trumps it's beauty so we will have to replace it. My only recourse is to warn any other would-be buyers of TWO THINGS: 1) Assembly is tricky. Unless you are artistic forget about getting it to look "heart-shaped" like the stock photos. 2) It's not worth the assembly time because it doesn't put out enough light to be practical for use as a light source.September 2023First, I was impressed at how well all the components of this chandelier were packaged. Two blown glass pieces per small box, wrapped in foam paper. All boxes containing blown glass pieces packaged in a larger box. I had no broken pieces! The assembly was a little bit of an ordeal, I cannot lie, however I am a very artful person and very much enjoyed the process of assembling this beautiful piece. The cage for the 20D is round, so to get the heart shaped finished product, the blown glass pieces must be strategically attached at differing lengths of wire to the cage to achieve that shape. Work from the bottom up. The first piece on the very bottom needs to hang down at least a 5-in below the round cage by the wire. Slightly shorten the amount of wire the pieces hang by as you work up. By the time you get near the top the pieces are no longer hanging, but are wired closely to the frame by also rest on the pieces below them. Strategically place your glass pieces around the cage symmetrically, such as three pieces per section, and the section above it would be two pieces per section but lay in between the three below it. Again, it takes some creativity and an artful eye to accomplish a final product that looks like the photo. I tried to include photos of my process along the way to help you along. I love the final result and would purchase this beautiful Chihuly-style chandelier again!

Worth the Labor
It’s absolutely gorgeous! As you can see in the photo, you assemble each piece of glass yourself. Don’t let your electrician do this…they are not artists, they do not care about carefully placing each piece…don’t pay for their time! Took me 4-5 hours.I will need supplemental light in this area…it doesn’t give off enough light for over a table. More decorative. An imitation Chihuly! The seller will provide you with additional pieces of glass if you break some in assembly. They are very kind and accommodating.Would buy again!

We put it together 3 different times and what I got could never look like what I ordered.
My light was much smaller with bigger and much less crystals and not nearly as pretty. I would love to trade for the picture that is in my orders!!!

Ridiculously Hard to Assemble
In the end, we like the chandelier and it looks good in our home. The biggest issue is that there are no instruction on how to assemble the chandelier. Ours was the 24 inch octopus lamp and it requires you to attach 50 blown glass pieces to a small sphere with wire. Each piece has to be individually wired. The package stated I should have been emailed a link to a video with assembly instruction, I did not receive this. When I sent the seller a message requesting the link, I received a reply with 3 video links. The videos were not professionally make, and appeared to be buyers home videos. None of them included specific instruction or up-close images of how to assemble the product. Additionally, the hardware for attaching the electrical connection is not standard. I had to purchase additional hardware to mount this to my electrical box. The canopy that covers the wiring is 4-1/8 inch in diameter. Most canopies are 5 - 6 because the standard electrical box is 4 inches. I had to do some touch up to the ceiling to make this work. In the end, in looks great but it was very frustrating to assemble and took two of us 5 plus hours.

Super Cheap
I would never suggest someone buy this fixture. The first one I received came the wrong color and was very small, not much larger than what I would consider a pendent. I contacted Amazon and was sent a replacement. This one arrived and it was the same size but the color was somewhat right. I had ordered the 28" chandelier, the glass pieces were only about 7 inches long. The center piece that you must connect the glass pieces too was about the size of a small baseball. No way was this going to be 28". The glass pieces are NOT colored glass. They seemed a little rough so I thought I would clean them before putting this thing together. I sprayed them with glass cleaner and wiped them off with a paper towel. When I looked at my paper towel it was covered with blue and the glass piece had large bare spots all over it. The glass was extremely thin. The hardware is also cheap both of the fixtures I received arrived with the piece you attach to the ceiling dented. In addition, I have no idea how you would ever replace the tiny lights inside the ball that the glass pieces are attached too. The only way would be to take it apart. I never finished putting this together, I just returned them, it was obvious this fixture was too small, not going to provide enough light and just plain cheap.
