Le Creuset Stoneware Heritage Butter Dish, Flame

I've always been more budget conscious and wary of "paying for the name", or what my Dad lovingly refers to as "the idiot tax", but I'll always make an exception for Le Creuset. Put simply, it's worth it. They're just quality products, and this stoneware is no exception. There's a reason people argue over these as inheritance.This butter dish is easy to clean, either hand wash or dishwasher. It holds two US sized sticks of butter comfortably, closing properly which other dishes I've owned have struggled with. The weight of the lid is enough to create a good seal. The listing mentions it's microwave safe, but I've never had occasion to test it.The color of this is as pictured and matches our decor well.

I got the red butter dish because it blends well my three lodge red cast iron 6 qt cooker. The style is nice. The smalls handle on top is nice touch my previous dish did not have. I also like the larger, slanted and ribbed side handles that give a more secure grip when moving it. Over-priced imho. But the color and features moved me to choose over price alone in this case.This is my first Le creuset item so time will tell on how it holds up to heavy kitchen use.

Le Crueset makes so many great products, and this is no exception. It fits a standard size butter stick, but I could also put a Kerrygold wide butter stick and it would fit. Keeps butter fresh and since it’s softened from being out of the fridge, it’s so easy to spread. Love this product.

True to their reputation, Le Creuset is not only beautiful but also well designed. I like the spaciousness around the actual butter stick. The butter does not smear around the base or get on the inside of the lid. It always looks neat. I don't regret the money spent on my butter dish.

This butter dish is large enough to hold two regularly sized sticks of butter, side-by-side. The soft gray outside of the dish is quite pleasing and would blend with just about any kitchen decor. It is easy to remove the lid, and the loop handle at the top allows it to sit without getting butter on anything else when placed on its top. The smooth surface of the dish, inside and out makes it quite functional, and easy to clean with just a paper towel. I've not seen a comparable dish for the price, so you will surely agree that it is a great value. The lid seals well when closed, so we keep it on the countertop so the butter is soft and easily spreadable.

Great quality & good design with easy to grit tabs on each end making it easy to grab from the fridge.

Ok this may sound kinda strange to most, but I must admit I have struggled to find the perfect butter dish. They are either too narrow and collect butter in the sides or too big and heavy and difficult to pick or handle. While this dish skews larger it does so in a manner which fits big and small but not at the cost of ease of handling. Plus it looks great too!
