These 5 gallon Might Tough containers have been a great addition for dry goods. We use them for flour personally, and they have kept the product fresh and dry. I love the screw on top and the fact that it’s tough to open (not too tough) and gives us a good seal. They stack well, and allow for clean and clutter free storage. Will definitely consider getting more in the future, and recooked them for anyone looking to get into dry storage.

So the lid was stuck on the bucket pretty tight. I used a flathead screwdriver lightly between top edge and its bucket frame evenly all the way around as if I were trying to open a new can of paint. Afterwards, I lifted and tried twisting it again and it came off fine. I wiped it out and left it opened to air out a little. Since then I tried to make sure its firmly on airtight but not overly tight. I really like it and it works as intended.

These buckets are great! Durable and the perfect size for my chicken feed. Keeps it fresh and keeps the pests out! I tried ordering other brands but these are definitely the best for this price point.

I received these today. I managed to get the lids on pretty easily (some people had difficulty), but it was difficult to twist the lid to open it. I couldn't have done it without help. The quality seemed good. I am confident that they will seal well enough to keep food fresh. The handle seemed sturdy when I had to lift them after being filled. The title for the product says 5 gallons or 21 pounds of pet food. I realize this depends on the brand of food, but 21 pounds seems unlikely. In one bucket, I fit 15 pounds of cat food (brand Solid Gold) with some extra room. The second bucket could not hold 17.7 pounds of cat food (Royal Canin). There was about a gallon of food left, so it was pretty close. I'm happy enough with these because they were cheaper than most containers of similar size.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I liked this item because it has a screw on lid, similar to one I have for dog food. I liked that this came in a pack of 2 because I intended one for bird food and one for squirrel food. However the lids were extremely difficult to remove. They are dual use lids, either snap on or screw on. The 1st one my husband (who is extremely fit) had a very difficult time unscrewing. The 2nd lid was cracked exactly where you would put your thumb to apply pressure to unscrew. He tried every which way to avoid breaking it, but was unable to as his thumb pushed right through and a piece of the lid broke off. I went to Amazon website for a replacement exchange and selected UPS pickup. Once I finalized my exchange is when Amazon confirmed that UPS would pick up the very next business day. They should let you know that prior to finalizing the return. I thought once I finalized it, I could schedule that with UPS. I would have waited to return the items once we came home from our mountain house. Storage capacity:20lbs

These work great for storing bird seed. We were having issues with squirrels getting into our garage and getting the bird seed. They even ate through other plastic containers we were using. The squirrels can't get through the heavy plastic these are made from.

I bought these buckets for the purpose of bokashi fermenting vegetable scraps, and soaking weeds to make fertilizer tea. So far, I highly recommend them and will probably buy another set soon.Pros:1. The buckets look and feel sturdy and durable.2. They are food grade, so they will leach fewer toxic chemicals into my compost.3. The gamma lids twist on and off very easily and surprisingly quietly. This is a welcome change from the standard snap on lids and buckets I got from the local home construction warehouse. This is also advantageous for folks with arthritis or other issues involving their hands.4. Nice, neutral, grown up color; at first, I was bummed that the buckets only came in grey. Now that I have them, I prefer their neutral color, especially since they are kept indoors.The only con I can identify is that you need to use a bit of strength to snap the gamma lid base onto the top of the bucket. This should only pose an issue for a small subset of people. Once on, however, the lid is very easy to twist on and off.

I use them for my compost and it’s perfect. Easy to open and close, no smells. Couldn’t ask for more.
