It was too low. I am 5’10”” and when I sat in it the back of my legs behind my knees did not even touch the seat. The Diane goons gave to total height but not the height of the seat.

I am both a computer expert and an artist, and sometimes I need to sit at home at the computer or my easel for hours at a time. I have been looking the past many years to find a comfortable, durable and inexpensive chair that won't lose the cylinder in the first year and won't ruin my back, legs, posture--anything like that. It has even been said that having the wrong chair that tilts the posture just a little so in exactly the wrong position, over time, can lead to neck pain and otherwise inexplicable chronic headaches. It's all based on how you sit, and therefore, exactly what kind of chair you're sitting in.When I first sat in this chair (granted, I bought it at Fred Meyer and was able to try it out first), I knew it was going to work like, boom! just that fast. The height is perfect just for me at the highest setting, to where my knees are at a 45-degree angle for perfect support. Too low, too much pressure on your back. Too high, your legs go numb. This chair is perfect for me, and I'm 250 pounds and it is rated for up to three hours. I got this chair on sale for $60, and I consider it a real bargain. Setup took only five minutes; there are eight hex screws and the tool is included. The back does not adjust and the chair does not tilt by leaning back, but there is a tilt adjustment knob underneath.A word of caution, though--underneath the wheel support hub, the spines are razor sharp, so do not pick this chair up from the bottom and then try to flip it over, as you will get cut--it's better to take the chair and piston off the hub base for any other adjustments. Hope the chair works well for you!Not recommended for people larger or taller than me, say, six feet tall and up to 260 pounds. You'll need a heavier-rated chair if over these limits.

First off, I didn't buy my chair from Amazon. I bought this exact same model on sale from a military base exchange. Therefore, I was able to buy it $30 cheaper than Amazon or any place online. So far, this is a comfortable and stylish chair for the money. The only things some people may not like about the chair is that it doesn't recline and the cushioning may be a little hard. It all just depends on if you like firm/medium support for your back and bum. Instructions and assembly were very easy. Overall, I have no complaints about this product and have had no issues so far.
