Love this guide. Use it a lot, especially during the finishing of my basement. Hubby loves this gauge.

Good tool - but take a look at Saker, too.
Just got this, and it works great. Fingers move very freely when unlocked, and are _almost_ as tightly held as I would like when locked down. I briefly tried it out on some kitchen refurb tasks that I wish I'd had this for when I did them. (So this was one of those sadder-but-wiser purchases to better do something after the fact.) It's obvious from some of the more subtle details (the angled contact surfaces, for example) that a lot of thought and/or use testing went into this. For the price, I'm very happy. One thing I didn't notice before buying was that there's no adjustment for the tightness of lock, so you can't compensate for wear as it's used, or for manufacturing tolerances. I know if there were, I'd be fiddling with that to see if there was a happy medium setting that held the fingers just a little more tightly when locked. Saker offers this tool, also on Amazon, apparently identical except for product labeling and a set-screw tightness adjustment on the end opposite the lock. The Saker version costs almost twice as much as the RAK, and I don't know how well that adjustment works, but I'm tempted to return this and get that.

Perfect invitation!
This is such an ingenious invention! Greatest thing ever! Easy to use and no mistakes. Everyone wants to try it and I refuse to loan it! Lol!!! Let them buy their own!!! Such a timesaver and so easy to use. Get one for yourself and give as gifts to everyone who enjoys doing their own projects. Love it!!!❤

Cool product
Needed it for a crown molding project where we had to match the profile of a window treatment to fit over the molding. It wasn't large enough to handle this particular crown application. Would be great if it eventually came in a larger size.

It's everything I hoped it would be and more!!!
I used to do everything with a butterknife and then my husband introduced me to tools!! I have never been the same. So, now I do everything or at least attempt! This year we laid brick on the front patio and we had pilars to go around. So this little tool helped me map AROUND the edges and the pillars for a smooth finished & professional look on my patio. It was awesome!! It's going to make things soo much easier when we retile the bathroom floor. I can't wait!! It's really worthwhile and it will help you when you need to cut around areas that are hard to interpret (ie. around moldings, the toilet).

Cheaper products perform better
I bought this gauge after reading a review off a reputable website. Unfortunately I am very disappointed with this gauge and will most definitely be returning it. First and foremost, the gauge only has a useable throat depth of a bout 1-1/2" inch meaning only shallow, inline copes can be duplicated. Anything that steps or is deeper than 1-1/2" is unreadable. Frankly, it renders this tool pointless at $70 since a piece of cardboard work better. Secondly, the locks are not only not tight enough to firmly hold the fingers in place, theres no tension adjustment to keep the gauge tight as the plastics wear out. Extreme poor design for an expensive, top rated gauge. Since I really wanted to use this on vertical joints, I searched for a better product. Attached it a picture of a competitor that cost half as much for 2 gauge instead of one (both with a 3" working throat and locks that actually work) out-performing the RAK. The given contour is just as accurate but unlike the RAK, the competing gauge actually makes it all the way into the corner. You think that this competitor is comparably expensive, but its not. It in fact not only cost 50% of the RAK, but comes with a second 5" gauge.

It is accurate and stays in position
The contour tool was everything I wanted except for its length. I would like one twice the length.
