Kruk Thai Mortar & Pestle, Clay 9"

That works great and is very durable! I didn’t know to expect when I ordered this but when It arrived I was very surprised with the quality and thickness of the pot!

This mortar is authentic. Be advised that it will arrive a little rough on the edges.I cleaned / sanded the clay mortar with a piece of 150 grit sand paper inside and out.Then proceeded to rinse it really well and then applied a little avocado oil inside and out.This mortar now looks as beautiful as it is functional.The pestle is a hardwood treasure,perfectly sized to maximize the efficiency of every stroke.

This product has a crack in the bottom of the Mortar which is a major problem since food products can get into this small crevice and make it hard to clean. Looks like a forming defect of some kind. Poor quality and would not recommend you buy it.

The bottom is too thin, so I was worry it would be crack sometime. However, it broke after I used it for 2 or 3 times. I would want to give only 1 or 2 stars, but I give 3 stars because I love the size of this mortar. I was enjoying to make papaya salad with this mortar because it give more space for mixing salad. But I disappoint that it's too thin in the bottom, which I was worry since the first time I saw this mortar. After I checked the product and I thought it would be crack in the bottom someday and it was, even though I was trying to careful when I was using it. So now I plan to use it as the garden pot in next summer because the most part of this mortar is thick except the bottom part and I hope whoever that make this product will think about this. It's good product and the only weak point is the bottom is too thin.

I have only used the mortar and pestle once for making a Papaya salad, but I wish there was a larger size available since I was trying to make a large batch. I will update my post once I get used to it, but so far, so good...
