The Patriot [DVD] [2001]

Packed well and arrived quickly considering the Covid-19 situation.Love this movie...Good story really well made...Looks good, Sounds good and the sets and costumes are exceptional,the cast do a great job and it doesn't pull any punches with the brutality of war.As other reviewers say it is an American Braveheart...Well trained violent warrior opts for a life of peace until that life and his loved ones are threatened by an unjust foreign power.BluRay really shows how much time and money was spent on getting things right...some of the shots in this movie are framed like paintings and are lit beautifully. Not a huge amount of extra features but what's there is interesting.

I found this movie enjoyable, I would give it an 80/100. It's engaging, particularly in the beginning, and well made. On the down side, it is a bit long, and it seems like the director tried to cram in too many events instead of focusing in the most important ones. Also, the main topics and characters are almost identical to Braveheart, which leaves you feeling like you've seen the story before.

This film is a blast (excuse me)The acting is very good (with particular note for the performances of Mel Gibson and ma boy Lucius Malfoy)The fights are fun as hell action sequences brimming with a patriotism I never knew I had.Light on history but with enough there to hook in an inquisitive mindSome parts get a little boring but that's just a pacing problem, other than that it's a great period piece on a war that isn't covered too much in cinema.

A true brilliant film good story from start to finish enjoyed every min of it sound and visual quality perfect must buy film cant wait to watch it again

More Gibson quality, Eastwood and Duvall Wayne and De Niro Walken and Pacino all did similar reviews of American conflict and society and I bought the book as well but if you can stand Ride with the Devil this compliments that deep review and The Outlaw Josey Wales. This does set the USA Independence issues in context as film should and it is well acted correct level, not over stressed, it appears to be accurate and will annoy The British colonialists as should East Africa Mau Mau days information, somebody has to shake the pail and see what cream rises and this is it.

Nice transfer, good sound and well put together. A good improvement over the DVD. As for the film itself, well, you're better going to IMDB for that. It's entertaining, and a better depiction of the AWI than most. The evil British side is pretty cliche and spoils it somewhat, but then, it is an American production. Some great characters all round, with a decent attempt at presenting a complex story.

This is another very true story . It's a must see movie. 5* all day long . I world recommend to anyoneSorry I do not go into storylines I leave that for you to enjoy when you watch it .
