Balliihoo® 4" Pressure Barrel Cap with S30 Co2 Top Up Valve, Pressure Test Point & Gauge (Fits King Keg & Rotokeg)

My king keg tends to get rather over-pressured, and this is hard to (a) detect and (b) do much about... This replacement cap seemed the ideal solution to my problem. I would be able to monitor the pressure as secondary fermentation takes place and the cycle tyre valve would allow me to bleed off a little pressure if required.Unfortunately when I tried this with my latest batch of beer, the keg did not build up any pressure at all after a week. I took it off, checked the seal, applied a little Vaseline this time, re-primed and tightened everything up again. Still no pressure. Contacted the seller and they suggested a few things to check. Did these, re-primed, tightened back up - still nothing.Gone back to my original cap as there are only so many times I want to have to re-prime my beer! Given this item was pretty expensive I will fiddle with it and try again on the next batch... But very unimpressed. If I spend this much money on something I expect it to work without me having to fix it!

Bright red and with large grip-fins, the cap is an improvement over the stock Kingkeg barrel cap. I bought two of these as I was too lazy to service the caps on my two Kingkeg barrels. The addition of the pressure measuring valve gives a good indication of the state of the gas layer over the beer.So why only 4 stars? Two reasons. The puncture pin for 8g gas bulbs is a little short, so the gas just "dribbles" out in an annoyingly slow manner. Of the two caps I bought, one seems to be a bit leakiy (although I haven't tried either Vaseline or SGM494 silicone grease - which I prefer for use on brewing/serving equipment).

. Seems to be working well (I have not had any complaint's from my husband yet) he likes the tyer. gauge.And it was well packaged and arrived before it's time.

Bought this as replacement for original one.
