Works well. Does the job.
It hooks on the shelf ok, but you do need to be at a certain angle to read it. That's no hardship though. An inexpensive, good product.

Update: it gets better
After slating this product in the review below I should’ve returned it but was too lazy. After a few days the thermometer settled down and became more accurate. It is now accurate at room temp (22C), fridge temp (3C) and freezer temp (-18) although it was 1C out in the freezer but close enough. In short if you buy this and it seems way inaccurate give it up to a week to settle down before giving up on it. As it turns out a very nice product at a very good price.At room temperature, fridge temperature and freezer temperature, this thermometer consistently has an 8 Celsius error - totally useless for its purpose.

I needed this because some thing were going off in our fridge
well well well , i prchased this after buying 2 digital thermometers that i thought should be accurate and they both dissapointed as they both showed my fridge as being 10 degrees or above so ithought lets go back in time and buy the old fashioned thermometer like this one and low and beholdeurika ! its as ACCURATE as they come, THANKYOU VERY MUCH

This thermometer works well, but is very difficult to read.
Good value fridge or freezer thermometer. It is accurate, but very difficult to read as the mercury bar is too thin.

Not Accurate
Well what can I say made in England standards have slipped badlyTried it in the fridge. First couple of days it was about 3 degrees out then after a week the red line was breaking up and ended up being about 15 degrees out.Tested against two other thermometers and a sensor probe.Hard to read line.Asked for refund from AmazonPity really as it looked good when first taken out of box
