Awesome purchase!
Purchased half price, thus making this a well worth buy! My 8yr old quickly figured out days the larger parts of the set were behind, (i.e. the dragon was day 24), but it didn't impact on his enjoyment and excitement of opening a window and finding another playmobil character or item. There's also a playmobil card game included, which kept him, and his friends entertained for hours.I personally, would not spend £20 on an advent calendar, no matter how awesome - and this was awesome, so finding it for half price was fantastic. Furthermore, this set goes beautifully with the main gift I bought my son, which is one of the playmobil castles, that again, I managed to purchase on offer. I never quite saw the appeal of playmobil before, seemed like lego's poor cousin, however, after observing my son playing with the stuff, I am a convert. Its well constructed, sturdy, and offers great imaginative play opportunities, and its reasonably affordable, especially when offers are on.

with sturdy characters.
Don't normally write reviews. But was so impressed with this and at a bargain half price deal of £9.99. It is in true Playmobil style, with sturdy characters ... my 3 year old was able to play with the set straight away and it comes with a card board scene. Excellent!

Interesting calendar that isn't generally available in the UK
I admit it, I'm an adult who is a fan of Playmobil. Despite having no kids, every year my partner and myself buy a Playmobil advent calendar each and we have a lot of fun opening them every day on the run up to Christmas. My partner has the Pirate Treasure Cove calendar this year. This year I decided to get this slightly unusual calendar as I hadn't seen it for sale anywhere else. It's available from Playmobil's German site but not from their UK one (though this may well change in future years). I like dragons and fantasy stuff like that, and this calendar looked completely bonkers with a dragon, two knights in full armour and weaponry, a ballista thing that shoots bolts across the room, some treasure and a magic dwarf shooting lightning from its hands. What's not to like?As it is only Dec 8th I've only opened a few windows so far but we both found that the items that we received in our calendars would allow a child to start playing immediately - day 1 gave us both a figure, the next few days gave us accessories for the figure and we both got a larger item on about day 6 so we didn't feel fobbed-off with getting tiny accessories all the time. I think a lot of thought has gone into the "timing" of each item in the calendars. As for quality, everything is up to Playmobil's usual standard. Some items require you to assemble them so children may need a hand with this, though they're more fiddly than complicated. The boxes come with a nicely-printed cardboard diorama so you can display your collection as you open the calendar and receive the items.

Brilliant advent calendar
These calendars are brilliant. I bought this for my son who's five and he was so excited each morning to open the doors. It's a great way to get some extra pieces for their playmobil sets as you get three characters, a dragon, a treasure chest and treasure, a cannon, a horse, plus lots of other items like swords and shields. Highly recommended.

Well worth the money
My son is absolutely obsessed with this advent calendar, and I think it's great. I got it for £13 but even at full price it's just as good value as other playmobil sets. As another review has mentioned the 'timings' of each item is well though out so that you start with a figure and then get the accessories for a few days until another figure, the dragon is last. A word of warning though the order is displayed on the sleeve so if you don't want to ruin the surprise for your child I would suggest hiding this. This advent calendar has provided the perfect lead up to the playmobil dragon castle from Father Christmas.

Wonderful!
This was a huge hit with our 4 yr old grandson. He was visiting us for Christmas from LA and he'd never had an advent calendar before. He was so excited to open another flap each morning. The Playmobil you get is great and the dragon theme couldn't have been better received. He'll be getting one delivered every year now until he's too old for it.

disappointed
When I first received the calendar for my son he loved it, it looked really good and worth the money but after opening door number 5 when he was meant to get head and body armour for the horse he got 2 head armours instead and is very disappointed and says he can't put the figure on the horse now as it falls off easily. Maybe this is just a one off defect but I would be careful now if thinking of purchasing.

Really great product
We have had a Playmobil advent for a few years now, and have almost exhausted the selection available, so I was thrilled to find this one which is not available on the UK market.
