Excellent option for DYIers....
Even though I had some initial issues, I was able to contact their support service for assistance and resolution. The tool is really good and contains almost everything a DIYer needs to perform their troubleshooting assignment. In my situation, I needed it to perform a crankshaft position sensor relearn process on an Isuzu Ascender 2006 with an L6 4.2l engine, which shares a platform with the Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Buick Rainier, and others, and it worked perfectly. The tool is easy to use and light, and the Wi-Fi option to get the updates while sitting in your car is super convenient.I greatly appreciated the support team's assistance because, as I previously stated, the tool stalled during the process, but they figured it out correctly, updated the module, and it ran extremely well after that.I truly recommend this tool to anyone looking for an affordable yet complete solution.

Great diagnostic tool in one compact package
purchased this scanner for a home garage. The device was easy to get registered and updated. It does support 5ghz as well as 2.4ghz wifi which I was happy to see. Once connected to the internet, I registered the device and was able to download the vehicle packages that I needed. The app itself also ran an automatic update. I was a bit concerned initially by the screen size and thought I would have to bust out by reading glasses but the screen is bright and clear, much like a cell phone in landscape mode. The device itself feels rugged and has rubber bumpers on the ends. i'm sure it will survive the inevitable fall to the garage floor.I was able to try the scanner out on a Volvo XC90, Jeep Compass, Subaru Outback and Jeep WJ. The autovin feature automatically identified 3 of the vehicles. The Jeep WJ, which is 20 years old, required that I manually enter my VIN. I was able to run diagnostics on all of the vehicles and see live data from various sensors. One of the main reasons for buying a bidirectional tools was to be able to retract the EPB for rear brake replacements. I checked the online feature lookup on the Xtool website to make sure that feature was available for my year, make , and model. It worked to put both vehicles in and out of brake maintenance mode. I did have a moment of panic when i couldn't get the Subaru out of maintenance mode. The on screen instructions said to press the brake slowly until the pedal is firm . That is correct but you have to do that BEFORE you click the button to exit maintenance mode. I had emailed support on a weekend about it and they got back to me in a few hours. Luckily I figured this out on my own so I didn't have to go any further with support but they seemed willing to help.I did a bit of shopping before settling on an Xtool scanner. I found a lot of other brands either didn't allow you to have multiple cars in the scanner, they required a subscription for updates, or both. This tool doesn't have those limits and as someone that is using the scanner in a home garage, it didn't make sense to buy a scanner that was going require a subscription or licenses. This really checked all the boxes for what I need, I'm glad I chose it.

Useless!!!
Misidentifyies my truck as a 2008 and my truck is a 2009. No other scanner has ever done this. I can perform absolutely no pcm functions like forced DFP Regen or a simple oil reset. Says it's not supported. You would think a $200 scanner would be better than a paper weight. Do not buy!!!

This is more than just a scanner. It will graph
Very nice high quality product. This is more than just a scanner. Doesn't work on old vehicles. Would not work on my 99 Honda CRV and my 97 E350. Work fine on my 03 Honda CRV. You can use this to graph different sensors.
