Nitecore HC33 1800 Lumen Versatile L-Shaped LED Headlamp with a 2-Channel USB Smart Charger Set, with LumenTac Organizer

I have a husband who likes to sleep in the dark. (I suppose that’s not unusual.) I call this my “headlight.” I can work or read happily without disturbing him! I don’t know how long they last… mine quit working after years of use (headlight and batteries) so I bought another one. But I then found out my first would still work fine—my charging cable had just come unplugged. If you want something where you have many choices of brightness and lightweight to wear, you will love this too.

I bought it knowing the light was offset. I didn't realize how annoying that would be for closeup work. That said, it's a great light. I'll probably buy another one if this one dies. On the standard output setting, a full 8 hour day results in about 40% battery left. The charger is good, but it gets hot of you charge 2 batteries at once. Luckily, you only need to do that the first time when you buy it unless you're irresponsible and don't plan things well.

I was looking for a new headlamp to replace some of my cheaper LED headlamps I acquired over the years and to be more reliable than my old Petzl halogen workhorse. After lots of research and visiting various flashlight forums, I landed on the HC33. I'm happy I did!When I received the package, I charged the 18650 batteries fully overnight, and then used the headlamp for various tasks around the house the following day.Pros:Easy to use button5 different brightness levels plus 3 varying strobesmagnetic tailcapremovable from headstrap to be used as flashlight and standing lightLevel 5 is very brightThrow is decent and the spill is excellent for close up and distance work.Cons:Level 1 is a bit too dim, and Level 2 a bit too bright for average tasks in the dark.Doesn't turn back on to the last used level. I find myself pressing twice to turn the light on and get to level 2 (most used), but it's a fine line between two presses and double-tapping, which puts it into strobe. More than once, I've activated strobe, which is very fast and very bright, when all I wanted was a level 2 light. Need to be deliberate to press slowly when going from off to on and changing levels.This light was so good, that I've already purchased another nitecore light and additional batteries.

One of the most versatile led lights I own. Have a total of 12 led lights and nitecore has the best heat sinks out there. All others overheat too soon and step down to 30-40% max making them essentially useless for intended purposes. Love the magnetic tail cap and metal clip for uses beyond a headlamp. Light diffuser is great as well allowing less focus and a more lit immediate area. The only gripe is the fact that you must remove tail cap to remove head strap and use other accessories. I wish nitecore would replace the two rubber holders with two metal snap-in brackets to make for a hands-down most versatile lamp on the market. One other slight draw back is the required 8A 18650 battery needed to obtain maximum OTF lumens. Highly recommend overall.

I purchased a Nitecore headlamp because we had used their flashlights at our office to our satifaction. The flashlights were great and had a battery that seemed to last forever.After many headlight fails from other brands and even very expensive lights, I decided to go on a rechargeable headlight hunt. I can’t believe I didn’t think of nitecore first. A year or so ago I purchased an HC30, an HC60 and their most expensive HC 90. They are all really good but the HC30 was my overall favorite because it was very bright, reliable and most importantly it wasn’t heavy. I purchased an HC33 as a little upgrade and I expect it to be as good if not better than the HC30. Also I rarely have the light at its brightest, but being kind of a light freak its nice to have the capability when needed. I think they are some of the best value you can get.

Just bought this unit. We run an Animal Sanctuary, have acreage and need to check on our animals during the night. We often would be put in a very UNDESIRABLE place, if our lighting failed us at the wrong time. We tried this brand, because quite frankly, so many others have been proven to be what we call CHEAP CHINESE CRAP. Well this is NOT CHEAP CHINESE CRAP....IT IS VERY EXPENSIVE CHINESE CRAP. Amazon routinely asks all of us to rate these products within hours or days after receiving them. Most of us know why that is so. Had I rated it the very first time I used it, I might have felt compelled to give it a 5 star rating, as we only used it once and it worked. Then, IN THE MIDDLE OF ITS SECOND USE!!!........ HELLO CHEAP CHINESE CRAP........HELLO DEAD FLASHLIGHT! Folks, there is nothing even remotely like quality control coming out of China........ especially electronics. Don't know if they don't know HOW to build anything correctly, or if they just figure that since they will give you another one as a replacement if it fails (although that is ONLY for the thirty day Amazon return policy), then "no harm no foul"... But we all know that giving us this garbage in electronics is making it almost impossible to even want to purchase anything from these people. We use many times as many products in some categories, like this one, than a homeowner would normally use. That gives us an immediate idea about how soon this garbage lasts. Well.... this is the first one of this brand so now I won't be able to purchase anything else from them. Nitecore is NOT A QUALITY PRODUCT, EVEN THOUGH YOU PAY A HEFTY PRICE FOR IT! We are writing this in hopes that some of you out there DO NOT GET SUCKERED INTO PURCHASING NITECORE PRODUCTS. Oh... and when I put their two batteries on a more sophisticated electronic tester, it showed that this does NOT come with batteries that are properly labeled. They say they are 3,500 mah batteries, but each of them tested out to be A SMALL FRACTION OF THAT! A SMALL FRACTION! FALSE LABELING AND ADVERTISING. FRAUDULENT. IT seems IMPOSSIBLE FOR NITECORE TO BE UNAWARE OF THIS....... it comes with a charger that does NOT show how many mah the batteries REALLY ARE. We will not purchase any of their products in the future. We are lucky, had we been in a different situation, this unit might have cost us our health! This is a $100.00 product in price and a $0.00 product in quality and usability.
