LOVE OUR NEW HEATER
We originally seen this heater in a hotel and liked it so much we decided to order one. It was easy to put the base together and set up. The instructions are simple, the only thing the instructions do not tell you that when the heater hits a temperature it switches off and then will switch back on when the temperature drops. We thought it was broken at first but on reading some peoples reviews we tested it out and it worked. We use it in our lounge and it heats up very quickly and you do not need it on a very high temperature either. We are thinking of getting another for our kitchen for the winter as it gets so cold in there. Worth investing in one for the price.

IT HAS A REMOTE CONTROL AND IT OSSCILIATES!
I love these heaters, I have three, one in each room to save putting the heating on in rooms you are not using. My daughter has hers on 24:7 almost! I love them, the fact you can put it on a timer is great, it heats up quick, and oscillates. The only downside is because it is only around 50cms tall (ish) and the fan is all the way down to the floor base that if I have it in my room by my bed it is heating up half of the bed as the bed is in the way and so I feel a lot of heat probably does not make it higher in the room that quick, the bed almost blocks it. It's fine in a room away from furniture but in a small room not so great, it would almost be better to have it raised off the floor on a table so the heat goes over the bed, (not directly hitting the bed frame) but that would be dangerous!

Great, great fan heater. Eat your heart out people who spent £350 + on a Dyson, this Dimplex is £80 and easily matches it.
This Dimplex Ceramic Tower heater is ultra-easy to put together (I didn't need a single 12 year old). Ultra-easy to use. Remote control is foolproof (and being a fool that's very handy). It's an ultra-efficient fan heater. Will heat smaller to medium sized rooms up very quickly, larger rooms take a little more time but this slim tower will meet the challenge. It has two power settings (1.5 and 2.5 Kw), the lower setting will maintain the room temperature and is energy efficient, too. I used it a lot over a 2 - 3 week period, it added only about 1 KwH to my electricity usage.Only minor niggles: 1) fan's a bit noisy (but that's probably a feature of it being a fan) 2) thermostat may not show the room's actual ambient temperature. I was using my heater to heat my lounge, due to no central heating, however the lounge is also where the central heating thermostat is. I found the heater showed a far lower temperature consistently than the CH. When the heater showed 18 centigrade the CH showed 23 - 24 c. When the former showed 21 c. the CH was up at 28 - 30 c. Uncomfortably warm. This may be due to where the fan heater's thermostat is placed relative to the floor, but I don't know. But, this differential being allowed for it's a great, great buy, and real value for money at £80. If you've recently spent £350 plus on a Dyson tower heater eat your heart out (a friend has and this Dimplex is more than equal to the task and £270 less).Would recommend in a heartbeat to people who need emergency heating, or just want an occasional supplement. Despite the minor niggles, I have to give it 5 stars because I do LOVE it.

Great heater for the price
I bought this fan after trying a similar Delonghi model. The issues with the Delonghi model were that it had an auto tip over shut off system that kept turning off the unit even though it was still perfectly upright. This was more common on the oscillation. This unit arrived yesterday and it is very very similar to the delonghi in terms of size, however this feels a little more study and the bass being made of a glass or ceramic disk is much heavier and stylish. It is easy to put together with just the base attached to the main unit with a small plastic nut. The unit has high/low setting and you can put the preferred temperature to reach. It will run until it hits this temperature then auto shut off. It will turn on when the temperature drops again. The unit is relatively quiet compared to other similar units and much quieter than the smaller units. The heat output is sufficient to heat a decent sized room to a comfortable level (it is -1 outside as I write this review). The unit is controllable on a small disk at the top or via remote control. Much like the Delonghi the remote control will only operate when the fan is facing you which means you have to wait for it to oscillate towards you before you can shut it off.Overall I am very pleased with this fan in as much as it works very well as a heater and is relatively quiet. My only quibble is that it cannot be used as a cool air blower like many other units. This would have really made this an excellent heater.

Good heater but unreliable.
I bought this on the back of it being a Which Best Buy - I like the product it has two heat settings and has a timer you can set also you can set the maximum temperature it also oscillates, what is not to like, unfortunately the first Dimplex delivered would switch itself off after about 10 minutes - I can only suspect it had a faulty overheating switch. But like I said I was impressed with the product so using Amazons return policy process I ordered a replacement which was duly delivered the next day using my Trial period of Amazon Prime. Cut a long story short this also switched itself off after a period of time (it would stay on if I left it set to the low heat setting). As I was on Amazon Prime I thought why not see how many I can go through of these heaters until I got one that worked - fortunately the third one received seems to be working OK after 2 weeks. Other than the fact two of these devices broke down one criticism is that it is a trifle noisy - just turn the telly up!
