Excellent and Worth It for Peace of Mind
Excellent all the way around. This keeps one camera fully charged without screwing around with batteries whilst 12 feet up on a ladder. It was very easy to slide open the camera's back plate, and remove the rubber weatherproof plug protecting the hole for the panel's charging plug. This solar panel adapts to the older outdoor cameras with a small cord pigtail, which actually makes it easier to install. I highly recommend this panel so you can pretty much forget about changing batteries, recharging batteries, and climbing ladders, repelling off the roof, etc. (We have a camera about 20 feet up). Set and forget! Once the panel is plugged in, check the application to make sure everything is connected and working. THE ONLY drawback of this system of panel/batteries in the camera is when it goes to 35 degrees or below, the batteries do not charge. So you might want to keep two batteries in the camera anyway, rather than one. Another suggestion: the connection between the barrel plug adapter (if used) and the solar panel should be suspended when dressing the cable, so the opening points down so water doesn't eventually seep in. That's it.

Easy installation, keeps Ring Spotlight Cam batteries charged
I bought this for my Ring Spotlight Cam, Battery motion sensor spotlight that I had placed over my garage side door for security.. There is no access to electricity at that location so the battery version was my only option. I thought that having two batteries in it would wok fine which it does but I decided climbing up and down a ladder every 3 - 6 months to remove the batteries and then reinstall them was not something I wanted to continue. Fortunately Ring has this solar panel made for the battery spotlight cam. Installation is easy and the panel has maintained both the batteries between 82 and 94% charges even though the panel is not in the best location for solar charging. I find it well worth the money and thank you Ring for having this option.

Solar panel for Ring camera is working well. No need to replace the battery as often
Really working well. With increased outdoor activity, our camera’s battery was draining quickly. This panel helps the battery to stay full.

Works amazingly well!
This thing works amazingly well! I have a camera that is up pretty high. I need to get a ladder to replace the battery. In the winter months the battery life is very short. Seems I’m changing the battery every other month. I installed the solar panel when the battery was at 74%. Within an hour it was up to 79% and the next afternoon it was at 96%. We shall see how it does this coming winter but all indications are it will charge the battery just fine. This was a great purchase!

Quit working after 1 month
UPDATE: The ring specialist reached out and found a solution. So far so good. I’m very glad they stand behind their products. Hopefully I won’t have anymore issues, but I trust that if I do they will be helpful. These are not working and I’m out of the return window. Not even 2 months old. Waste of my hard earned money.

Charges EVEN IN SHADE AND RAIN. Impressive performance
We have found that these impressive solar panels will actually *slowly* charge your cameras even if the solar panels are in the shade (assuming your camera doesn't face a busy street and you are using smart alerts and default motion detection and video streaming settings on your Ring spotlights and stick up cameras.) We find that the cameras gain 1-3% per day. Normally, they were losing 1-2% per day. Crazy. We have a lot of Ring cameras and one of our five panels literally sits at the bottom of a fence. Of course, if it's truly in the dark like under your deck, I doubt it will charge. It should face the sky, even if it's in the shade.
