Works as replacement for whirlpool
Perfect fit for our whirlpool refrigerator. We've never had a fridge with a filter before, so when I saw how much they cost to replace, I was a bit taken aback. But, this one was cheaper than the OEM version so I tried it out and we're happy with it! Water tastes great, and upon testing the water, no harmful chemicals or metals found. Perfect.

Culligan for the WIN
Love this Culligan filter! I am just getting educated on all the things that can be in water including pharmaceuticals! Lead?! Chorine?? Ugh!This filtered water is so clean; great value and super easy to install.

Comes with great instructions and fits with an adapter included.
I got this to replace our refrigerator water filter.I wanted this as it's made to reduce lead which is very important, along with other chemicals and taste improvement. This is a different size than the original, so they include a bracket.Fortunately the instructions are good with photos, still I had to work at it and really felt it was not going to work. But I followed the instructions and the bracket settled into the correct position after performing the "close the door and reopen" step. Then the filter just pushed in easily. When I ran about 8 large glasses of water, it spurted out some air on the first one or second one, which is just the filter getting filled with water and pushing it's air out. Once that was done, it has worked fine.

Cost effective water filter
Used this in a 6 yr old Kitchen Aid counter depth refrigerator - fits and works perfectly with the supplied adapter and is $10 cheaper than the factory filter.

Defective Filter
After I installed the filter the first water to come out was a dark color. I purged the filter with about two gallons of water. The water became clear but had a chemical taste. I removed the filter and replaced it with another from a different source. Everything has been fine since. Clearly the filter was defective.

Smell
I bought this because I was getting a strong chemical smell from the OEM filter even after multiple changes. So far so good, smell that had permeated from the ice storage is gone from the fridge.
