Brilliant
For the last few years I have 'noticed' this sun cream and always thought that I'd give it a go. However, this was before there were any reviews so I was pretty reluctant to do so; I couldn't see that one application would give day-long protection. I was understandably apprehensive, especially given my pale Celtic complexion. This year I took the plunge and bought 3 bottles for out 2-week holiday to Italy. On day one, with temperatures already in the late twenties at 10am, I reached for a bottle. My first impression was concern as the product is more like an oil than a cream; I checked the sell by date and even opened a second bottle to check they were te same. They were so I applied a liberal coat and stood under the Aircon for the suggested 15 minutes wait before being exposed to the sun. The smell does make your eyes water but the oil goes on well and dries very quickly. After 2 hours in the sun, jumping in and out of the pool, we stopped for lunch and I honestly thought that would be enough sun for the day. It normally would be using factor 20 normal cream. However, no tingling and no pinkness so after lunch I spent another 2 hours in the sun and even sunbathed! I would normally have combusted by now. That night, having spent 4 hours in the direct Mediterranean sun, I wasn't even pink. Apparently I just had a healthy glow. Amazing. One application and no burnt bits. The next day, a return to the sun for 6 hours and my healthy glow just got better. A week later I had developed a golden tan. After 10 days I was thinking that the oil was too effective so I tried a factor 12 cream. I went pink but the next morning the pinkness had gone and I was te brownest I had ever been. I then stuck with the factor 12 cream. So, to conclude, it works and is worth every penny. I didn't use the 3 bottles and wish that I had bought 1x SPF20 and 1x SPF10 as they do do a lower factor SP product. A far as quantity goes, I applied liberally and one bottle lasted 8 applications; I'm 6'3, 44 chest, if that gives you and idea of the coverage. The only warning I can give is don't wear anything white once you have applied; my white T Shirts ended-up with a yellow tinge.

The only sun protection we use
In 1987 we walked the Samaria Gorge and got fed up with applying sun cream over and over again as we sweated it off. A couple on our trip heard us moaning and recommended P20. We have used it on all our holidays since to many places around the world, including the tropics and we have never burned. We apply it all over about 15 minutes before breakfast and allow it to fully dry before getting dressed. We take two 200ml bottles for a 7-day holiday, three 200ml for a ten-day holiday and four 200ml bottles for fourteen days. Any leftover is brought back to use at home on the rare sunny days we have. The formulation seems to have changed for the better over the years as it does not seem to stain clothes so much, having said that, I never wear white clothes on holiday during the day while wearing P20 and I have a good shower in the evening to remove any residue.Just take care not to get it in the eyes as it can be painful and take a couple of hours till the eyes feel better. Use a different sunblock around the eyes which states it does not cause eye irritation. We have never used any other sun protection after discovering P20.

simply the best, with a couple of caveats
My wife and I have used P20 for about 10 years and continue to do so for the simple reason that it does what it says on the label - we were advised to use it by a friend who ran the Marathon des Sables (madmen running marathons in the desert...!!) where virtually every competitor uses it.We normally holiday each year in Dubai in summer, where temperatures can hit 50, so quality sun protection is vital. We both love the sun and tend to be on the sunbeds in full sun (don't see the point in going to a sunny location and sitting in the shade...) from 8.30am until 4.30pm every day after merely applying the P20 before breakfast. BE WARNED - you can burn with this if you're stupid with respect to exposure times (eg, I wouldn't sit in the sun all day on the 1st day of the holiday), but otherwise the freedom this product affords you from not having to continually reapply suncream throughout the day is worth it's weight in gold.Be careful of some of the comments made on other reviews about how long a bottle lasts as clearly some people are not applying enough - I'm 5'11" and 14st and my wife is 5'5" and 9st and we get through a 200ml bottle in 3 days (I saw one review that said a bottle will last a family of 5 the whole summer.....) - if you don't apply it as per Riemann's instructions it won't work properly, simplesIt will stain white garments, irrespective of how long you leave it to dry - I just get cheap t-shirts for wearing around the pool etc on holiday and throw them away at the end of the holiday - if you're one of these that likes to wear Ralph Lauren polos around the pool then it will get ruined, so kiss goodbye to £90....If you're a P20 virgin wondering whether or not to take the plunge then buy some and free yourself from the tyranny of repeated suncream applications throughout the dayHope this review helps someone
