This allowed us to update our TracFone and get it working again
Our TracFone stopped working. It's because it became unsupported. Updating this SIM card did the trick. It cost us about a buck... we were able to go online and transfer the SIM on the TracFone site... and 30 min's later... we were good to go. Pretty happy with now this went.

FOR ME, THIS SIM CARD KIT DIDN'T WORK AT ALL
Installed the SIM card for the "keep your own phone" option. Kit even says it's meant specifically for Tracfone service only. Went to their web site; enter your IMEI #; enter your SIM card #. Good news your phone is compatible, but you'll need a new SIM card. What? I just bought a SIM card. Remember? it's the one that says "keep your own phone" option kit. I tried it over and over with the same negative result. So!, I reluctantly called Tracfone cust. svc. him asking me the IMEI and SIM card #. Then in broken english, so sorry your phone isn't compatible. What?...the web site said my phone is compatible. No, sorry, your phone isn't compatible, it must have been a glitch. (Loser!)So! I ordered a "keep your own phone" option kit from the Tracfone web site, previously purchasing a service plan on the Walmart site.I went through set up again on Tracfone site and it worked, service was activated.I needed the service as there's a big huge "no service" area in and all around Jordan MT for AT&T/Cricket wireless. However, Tracfone has full coverage there. As mentioned, for me buying a SIM card kit on Amazon didn't work, maybe it has worked or will work for others.

TracFone / Verizon SIM card
The card works fine. The directions weren't very good. You need to keep your old SIM in the phone until everything is set up and then change the card. Or have 2 phones like I had.TracFone has gone down hill since Verizon bought it some months ago. I had to call TracFone tech support 4 times about not being able to receive calls and them taking away 2000 texts that I had available. They gave me back 1000 and I was just sick of calling them to get the other 1000 texts. None of this happened before Verizon bought them. I have had TracFone for years with no problems until now.Update 5/20 - I left Tracfone and went to Tello! Tello is a much nicer company. Tello's plans are as cheap as Tracfone's. And you have more choice.

Great for cutting bills on your cell phone
I had a friend who was looking to cut their ATT bill drastically as I saw their bill so I suggested this company to them. We had to go to ATT to get the phone unlocked first of all. After the phone was unlocked, I needed the account information for ATT (account number pin etc) and then registered an account for them on the Tracfone site. Tracfone requested all the information to port over the number to their service and all that good stuff.Once the activation sequence completed I was told to wait a couple of hours. Within 1 hour the phone was working again and 5G appeared on the status icon at the top of the screen. You have to do a little bit of work to get this activated with the port in process but once it's completed it's pretty straight forward.

Ok
Tracfone is ok if you have the time to deal with their sometimes shaky customer service.

Readily received - impossible to buy service plan!
SIM card is readily received from Amazon.com in the USA. But!!When you go to the website and try to pay for a 30 day plan with a credit card, they, of course, want an address to go with it. Even though you choose the U.K. from a drop down menu of countries, it STILL asks you for a ‘ZIP CODE’. That - of course - refers to a USA address and if you try to input a U.K. ‘POST CODE’ it refuses to let you. So EVERYTHING immediately stops working and now I’m stuck with a SIM card that I cannot buy a service plan for!I will have to try to ring the USA help number to see if they can sort this. We have had this problem before with USA companies not being set up to accept international payments from abroad - just because of the address part needing a ZIP CODE. It’s absolutely ridiculous as the stores in the USA readily accept our U.K. credit card when we are standing there paying for something! So! I would NOT recommend this SIM card - it’s just that and you cannot use it. But it FITS in the phone!UPDATE: I rang the USA helpline to try to pay for this over the phone or find out how I could buy a service plan. A very apologetic lady explained that they do not have the facilities for payment from outside the USA. This is very aggravating as the DROP DOWN MENU lets you choose a country - outside the USA! So! Now I have to WAIT until I get to the USA, FIND a store local to my destination - and THEN buy a service plan for my mobile phone.Kind of defeats the purpose of buying this SIM card BEFORE my journey so I had a working phone when I arrived.NEVER AGAIN!!
