You Can Draw!: Simple Techniques for Realistic Drawings

Sharpen your pencils - Mr. Pereznieto has written a great book!
I've followed Mr. Pereznieto's on-line drawing tutorials and wished they were in one place in book form so I was really pleased when this book was released in the UK. This book did not disappoint me at all. This is a collection of texture tutorials with invaluable and clear guidance. If you have ever wanted to draw a pearl necklace, here is where you come to learn how to draw a perfect pearl. The grain in a piece of wood, the facets on an emerald - or perhaps a rose in a crystal vase? You got them - and far more. The shading techniques throughout this very well set out book are demonstrated and explained in very easy, non-patronising terms. Not having picked up a pencil with serious intention since A-level Art, I'm far from an expert but this book is giving me renewed enthusiasm for drawing with the friendly and invaluable demonstrations delivered by a Writer who is passionate about his craft and truly wants everyone to share in his passion. A book I'm really glad to own.

As far as it goes it is a good book - easy to follow instructions - but I must warn those who, like me, are advanced in years - the emerald requires a deal of concentration - I threw my drawing up the room more than once. The end result was quite good if I say so myself.

Packed with useful tips.
Wonderful book full of invaluable tips and experience. Some of the examples take quite a long time to draw but that's what you expect with such brilliant detail. The description of materials and tools, from basic shading and considering your light source, to sharpening graphite and charcoal, this book is packed with simple but essential information. Love it.

Good, for what there is inside!, which isn't much.
What is shown is very good, with loads of instructions and detailed pictures of every stage. Dissapointed with volume of examples felt there could have been more for the money, most examples are already on Utube, so there nothing much new in the book, personnally I prefer watching Utube demonstration, as you get a better idea how to draw from a visual aspect.

Leonardo is the kind of guy that everybody loves. His genuine passion for art is inspiring. As a follower on his youtube channel - I simply had to buy the book. The book itself is fantastic - and would be a great gift for the budding artist! Money well spent!

Brilliant book. I've only tried a few of these tutorials but I was so surprised how well they turned out. I am only a beginner at drawing but these drawings are easy and also great to learn from.

Great How-to Book
Excellent Step by steps and instructions. The gem stones are particularly impressive, but quite intricate. Sphere, wood, water and flowers, waterdrop and lots more well explained. Very pleased.
