Nice addition to the kit
I saw this and although wary of chinese kit, all this does in effect is trip the shutter, so must work pretty well eh?Its one of those things you may or may not use, I have had cameras for years and have the little battery operated remote for the old eos cameras, I cant remember ever using it.This is slightly more interesting in that you can set intervals etc.It has some nice touches, an led that glows different colours, green for focus achieved and red for picture taking. It has a beeper for when its counting down to take the shot too.The instructions are the usual chinglish and probably harder to read than to work the thing.I got it out the box, put batteries, plugged it in and set up a timed interval on bulb for 3 secs for 5 shots with 10 secs between shots in a matter of about a minute, its very easy to use.The shutter button is pretty good, very sensitive, touch it and the camera focuses etc, a harder press and take the shot, you can also slide it forward for bulb shots and in this instance the beeper will sound every second and counter operate to tell you the length of the shot. For £11 or so, there is no reason to not have one and it runs on AAA's so you can get batteries from anywhere.

Well made remote at low price
I had ordered this timer / remote for use when I have the camera on a tripod and for Astro Photography to reduce blur for longer exposures. This remote appealed as I wanted a way to have better control over the timer aspect outside of what is built into the 550D (and by extension Magic Lantern software). The control itself feels solidly built although the LCD screen can be a little dim at times, but the timer function works brilliantly. The lock on the button for use when the camera is on BULB mode works well but feels a little cheap and leaves the worry that the toggle for the lock may break with prolonged use or a small knock. The cord is ample long enough and the control works without a battery if you do not want the extra timer functions of the control, I find this wired control alot more responsive than the cheap wireless infrared controls available on Amazon.Would highly recommend for anyone wanting to start with tripod photography, although may be not for the pros out there.

Cheap and does the job
Works as expected in terms of intervalometer functionality, and also has an optional dim back light. You can set delay, exposure length, number of shots easily, then once the process is underway you can interrupt it manually if you wish.Be careful that your model is in the list though - on my Fuji XT-1 the main release button with lock does not do anything at all. Since my camera model was not in the list I do not blame the suppliers but it is still a little disappointing nonetheless, especially since everything else works fine. There is a quick and easy workaround by using the timer - it just takes a couple more key presses. So overall quite satisfied. The lack of an on-off button is a little annoying though as it means you do have to remove the batteries every time you want to pack this away in your bag. Hence the 4 stars.

Great product
I needed a remote timer for doing some time-lapse photography as well as some night-time photography, and so thought I would invest in an intervalometer, but when I saw the price of Canon's own version I was a little put off (£120), then I found this, it seemed pretty similar and at a fraction of the price. So I took the plunge, and well it was defiantly worth it, this product does (and I stress) exactly the same as canon's version.Build Quality.Build quality overall feels good, it probably wouldn't take a good throwing around, but hey that's not what it's built for, the connection cable seems pretty strong and the rubber cord is good quality as well.Features.This intervalometer/Remote timer does exactly what is says on the tin, you can set a delay, exposure time, number of shots and time between shots. This is great for any type of time-lapse or star trail photography.Pros.Cheap, easy to use, the same as Canon's own brand, nice to hold (not to big nor small), only takes two triple A batteries.Cons.No off button, but to be honest it's not that hard to take the battery cover off and remove the battery. So, if you are looking to do any type of photography and need a remote timer then I would defiantly advise that you purchase this one, cheap, effective and easy to use!Overall 10/10!

Wonderful
Purchased this to assist with multiple, long astrophotography exposures and to avoid having to lug a laptop out to a dark site. The setup is very straight forward, with the device allowing you to specify the delay prior to the first shot being taken, the length of the exposure, the delay between exposures (especially useful on older DSLRs where it takes a few seconds to write the image to slower flash cards) and the total number of exposures to be taken. It has a backlight for the LCD display so you can see what you're programming in on the device when in the dark and also has an audible "beep" while in timer mode so you know that exposures are being taken. This is being used in conjunction with a Canon 350d in 'bulb' mode. For my purpose this product is excellent and a fraction of what you pay for the official Canon timer. Highly recommended. As other reviewers have stated, this device does not have an "on/off" switch. I've not found this a problem as standard AAA batteries seem to last a while (probably best to remove them when not in use though).I was a little concerned when I saw that it was being dispatched from outside of the UK, but fear not, it was delivered within 2 days. Excellent service.
