I absolutely love this book. I gave one to my sister because when she got ahold of it she was expecting to have her grandchildren visiting for the summer for a month she asked if she could take the book because it would be very useful for her to connect with them. This book is very thought-provoking I feel it applies to more than children, it opens up communication to things that I never thought we're up for discussion. I would highly recommend this to many people of all ages but getting our little ones to communicate with us is extremely important and the earlier we start that line of communication I feel like they will grow to be more insightful an empathetic adults.

I was asking the wrong guestions. As a result, I was struggling to connect with my child, especially while they were learning from home and I was the parent that was still working on-site. It was hard to break into anything substantive when I would get home.In hindsight it seems simple, but this book really helped me understand the power of open ended questions. The 444 example questions do a good job of helping the reader conceptualize behavioral style questions.We're already having more meaningful conversations after I've put what I learned into practice. I feel empowered, and I've got my entire Notes App full of my own type of questions now too!

Though hard to break the habit of asking “how was your day”, I very much enjoyed reading through the dozens of more thoughtful conversation starters that the author offered in this book. Great value for the price, especially if you are able to utilize any one of these techniques for engaging with children in your life. Well done!

This book is full of thoughtful questions that are great for both kids and kids at heart. I’ve already bought two copies - one for me and one for a friend who just had a baby. I’ll be including it in ever baby shower gift from now on!
