This works very well. On a humid day with a breeze, we easily got long, large, wobbly bubbles stretching out from the string, as in the photo. Even three-year olds could manage it if they were co-operating with adult instructions! Producing closed bubbles which separate and fly off does happen naturally, but less often (fairly large ones produced in about 30% of attempts). It is possible to increase these with practice. I'm not sure why the cost is so high. I don't know whether any piece of rope on two sticks would work equally well, I haven't tried. I've heard that the special mixture is necessary for large bubbles, but haven't tried anything else. It gets used up quite quickly and you will use up the bottle supplied in about 15 minutes. It is fun, so you will want to continue. I bought an extra bottle of 3:1 concentrated mixture, so ended up with 5 litres in total. We used about 4 litres over several sessions during a children's party.

I purchased this after seeing a video on Facebook, for my cousin, who is 26. On Saturday we went to Kew gardens for a huge family birthday picnic, and he immediately tried it..... I cannot explain the butterfly effect that creating giant bubbles on a hot day in Kew Gardens had; but we were like the pied piper. Children and their families joined in, gathered round, chased the bubbles, applauded, had a turn - it was a total triumph. Parents of children were coming over to thank us for bringing them so much fun over lunch time. It works as it says it does, the bubbles were fantastic, huge, and enjoyed by everyone. Children as young as 4 were able to create the bubbles with a little bit of help... great present and, as it turns out, a great thing to take on a family picnic.

Amazing product. Kids had a blast with it. Took a bit to get used to and needs proper conditions to get it right but once u get going it's a lot of fun. The only downside is the bubble mix runs out pretty soon and I wish they would give a bigger pack. Refills are expensive though they give £3 off if you post bottle for a refill. Need to try with a homemade mix and see if it works.

Bought to use when all the kids were together. They loved it and it kept them occupied in it ran out. It kept the adults busy to, people were queuing up to have a go making bubbles. People kept asking me where I bought it from.I was even able to use water from the river to add to the mix instead of carrying tap water out to park with us. You definitely need a big open space for this though.

Love this bubble tool plus the kids want to try and join in too! but I found I needed to add lots of washing up liquid to the mix to make the bubbles work otherwise it’s too watery and doesn’t and goes everywhere.

I'd bought this for my son who is obsessed with bubbles so when he saw the size of some of these bubbles he was ecstatic. There's definitely hour's of fun that can be used from this product if your children are anything like mine. The only downside I've found to using it is it's not compatible on windy days or wide open spaces. The idea place is a back garden with low wind resistance. I've also found that when using this on wooden floor that the drips from the bubble making can soon make the floor slick and slippery, so try to avoid that if you can.

Before you buy this you should be aware you are paying for two sticks with rope tied between them, a bottle of bubble mix and a small instruction sheet. I only mention due to some negative comments about the lack of presentation. Now onto the bubbles....awesome! The bubbles are huge, and while it may be pricy you can't put a price on the joy on your childrens faces and the joy on the faces of everyone's else's children as they flock to you and the jealous look from the other parents . One thing I would say is considered more solution. I used the full bottle after less than an hour of use. The solution is really expensive I'm definitely going to look for alternatives and possibly making my own.

Brought this for my niece's birthday. Wasn't expecting it to work as well as it did and was blown away by the size of the bubbles we managed. That said, at £25 it's a bit dear for what you get in the box.
