Amazing book
Love this book. I never understood colour theory as much as I do now. Very instructional, very good if you already have basic understanding of colour theory and want to learn further

This book is awesome if you are, like me, a colour geek... This book is in a class of its own.
I really wasn't sure what I was buying, as I really only wanted the colour wheel. Which is unque... BUT... THIS BOOK IS AMAZING. I totally love it from cover to cover. This guy understands colour and uses so brilliantly. I will getting his other books asap... And really wish I could go to one of his classes. And his colour wheel is worth the price of the book alone... But this whole book is captivating to the colour theorist, painter and art appreciater. I could rave on about this book, but go buy it and see what I mean for your self!

Fresh perspective on colour
This is a must have for understanding colour theory. It also stands out as the only book this far that gives product colour names when discussing specific colours. Very well written with plenty of examples

Great book to learn about effect of colours
This book shows which colours go together and which don't. The paintings are fairly realistic but held in "odd" colour shades. Despite, or better because, of this "odd" and not allways realistic colours, the images make a great impression and look really good. Most examples are held in mainly two colour ranges. for example a whole range of red and green or green and blue. Most of the time the paintings are held in secondary colours. The colour choice is clearly explained. Some examples demonstrate the effect nicely by coloring the same drawing with the same colours but a different strategy. For example a house in the country side during the day (and night) or the same landscape once in summer (gree/blue) and then in autumn (red/brown).This is a good book to learn about the impact of colours and colour mixing. The paintings are mostly held in some variation from the real colour in nature wich I personally very much liked.

A must for any artist
This should be the first book you buy if you do watercolour. I bought paint on a whim and didn't realise I was missing some important colours until reading this. It not only explains why certain colours look good together, but also how to choose them. This is the most important part. Before, I was looking for colour palettes online because I knew some colours looked good together, but I didn't know why.

Excellent book must have for any artist
I have studied colour theory in the past but this book really does make sense out of colour theory. I haven't finished reading it yet but already have learnt so much and am excited and inspired to start putting this knowledge into practice. Stephen Quiller is an excellent colourist .

Excellent book on Color Theory
Finally, a book that explains colour theory in a simple and understandable way. I've bought numerous books on this subject and at the end of them have felt none the wiser, but the author of Color Choices, explains the theory in such a way that I now feel confident to be able to apply better colour choices in my art. Also, his colour wheel using the actual paint names is genius. I highly recommend this book.

Really beautiful and informative book
I ordered it after keeping one from the library for a few months. It is incredibly informative if you're studying colour, especially with all the examples and variations. The quality and originality of images are out of this world. Not to mention, the book is full of beautiful paintings which look beautiful printed, I would gladly pay to hang each of them on my walls as posters. I've looked at a lot of books about colour for my project at uni and this is one of the best. Definitely recommend.

An investigation of colour choice and use for the intermediate artist.
Colour Theory. Not the easiest topic, but every artist requires some knowledge of it and this author definitely knows his stuff. Not for the faint hearted, but worthwhile dipping into and getting what you need to take your use of colour to the next level. Lots of examples demonstrating the points he is making, some exercises to get you experimenting with colour. The important factor, for me at least, is that what he's talking about can be applied to whatever colour palette you choose. It really does get you thinking about your own colour choices.
