fantastic value for money
I thought this was fantastic value for money. I keep seeing the matching 'accessories' kit on lightening deals and I'm seriously tempted to buy it every time, however I haven't finished using all the consumables that came in the original package yet because they're pretty well made for the cost. I'd never heard of the Tacklife brand before but as I'm only a hobbyist I couldn't really justify the cost of the branded dremel so this was right in the sweet spot for what I was willing to spend vs wanting something of reasonable durability. I've mainly used it on plastics so far and I've not had an issue. The only thing I might ask for would be a finger operated trigger that could be controlled by the holding-hand, but it's not like the other products at this price have it, it would just be nice. Well balanced and reasonably assembled for the money.

Great quality, torque and power!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Â I used to have a cheap and cheerful Woolworths brand multi-tool (remember them !!). It was never the most powerful and was pretty cheap and cheerful but, it did the job... until it recently broke. My mum has always sworn by the Dremel brand for her hobbies which seems to be the brand leader however I canât really justify the near ÂŁ100 for the limited use I will give it.After doing some searching, I found this TackLife branded multi-tool which seems to have the same or similar tools to the leading brand (and is even compatible with the accessories). I have purchased the TackLife brand before and been very pleased with the quality and functionality so opted for it.The multi-tool arrived in a simple cardboard box which contained a hard-shell case to keep the tool and all of its accessories safe and protected in their individual moulded slots with the smaller accessories in a separate container to keep them together. The tool and accessories all seem to be solidly made and well designed. The tool features an electronic speed dial with 6 settings and a separate power on/off which allows it to be quickly switched on and off without having to âscrollâ through the speeds to stop and you donât have to remember the speed setting when resuming. The case has a rubberised grip making it comfortable to hold without risk of it slipping from the hand and features a hook which is particularly useful to keep it safely positioned when using the flexible shaft attachment. The flexible shaft attaches simply (although it took me a while to realise that simply holding the shaft vertically by the tool end causes the inner core to just slide out for attaching to the tool by the normal collar before sliding it back in and securing with the wide collar on the flexible shaft!). The flexible shaft is again well made with a comfortable hand grip and solid feel. The tool certainly packs considerably more punch than my previous cheap version with plenty of torque and certainly for my needs, I honestly canât tell any difference between the TackLife and my mums. For the quality, power, bundled accessories and a price mark nearly a third of the leading brand, I think that this is a brilliant tool and would highly recommend it!

What's not to like?
Had to buy a new rotary multi-tool as my old Draper unit finally gave up on me. (It lasted a good while but there is a finite life on these things) Having checked out the reviews on several brands, the Tacklife RTD35ACL came out a clear favourite. Obviously the cost is a factor, you get a fair bit of kit for your money. The unit itself is sturdy and powerful, the case is good and unlike many others, you can see the spaces where each accessory fits, so keeping the kit all together and neat is simple. The accessories are going to be really useful particularly the flex shaft as this makes detailed work easy and is less tiring on the hands. First thing was to check that everything fitted correctly with the unit (as some reviews commented on loose fittings) Luckily everything seems to be fit together very well - so must be the odd unit that slips through quality control! You get a nice little starter kit of bits with this kit to get you going - not top quality but It's something you can add to along the way as it looks like most of the standard sets will fit this tool. I've got other sets that I've bought over time and there appears to be no problem using them with the Tacklife. All in all this is a powerful little tool for small DIY and craft applications, I've had a Dremel multi-tool and this compares favourably, especially as the equivalent Dremel kit comes in at 3-4 times the cost. I'm sure I will get a good couple of years usage out of this tool, which to me is well worth what it cost!

Excellent tool and accessory pack at a really good price, highly recommended
As good as any rotary tool in a higher price band as far as I'm concerned. I'm developing a fair bit of respect for Tacklife tools!Considering the range of attachments included, this is an excellent package in terms of value for money. I've seen a Dremel rotary tool sold with the same kind of attachments in a kit costing about ÂŁ150 more. You might be paying a lot more for the Dremel tool itself, but this rotary tool has coped with everything I've thrown at it without complaining or burning out, and I can't see any reason for paying more for an actual Dremel. It comes with a range of bits, not the best of quality to be honest but then again, bits are not hard to come by, and they're not the reason you're buying the tool anyway. They're fine in a pinch, but where bits are concerned, it's most definitely not worth trying to save money by going for the cheaper options. Good bits cost a bit more and you'll learn this lesson really quickly if you try to skimp on them. The better option is to take the money you saved buying this package and use it to buy some good quality bits.
