I am not a beginner but for the jewelry I make, these natural stones were perfect! Wiring is good for a beginner or for other crafts. I know most of the gem types but a few have me puzzled. I would have liked a list of the bead types but overall I am very pleased with this set. I have my own tools and wires so I haven't used those that came with this and it is still worth the price!

Bland-colored beads
There is a lot of wire and earring hooks, but the beads themselves are not as pictured on Amazon. They are bland and not colorful. Had to order surplus beads in more vibrant colors. Would not recommend this product.
