awesome
This is the 3 books in 1 for "history of Asia" set. If you are a history nerd, this is a set you will need for your library. The books, along with a chapter of note, are: In "history of China", chapter 6 "the Mongols rule China". Anything Mongols is fascinating to me. For "History of India, chapter 4 "the cultural shift". I loved when mythology was discussed in that chapter. And in "Japanese history", chapter 2 "myths". I love knowing all the different myths of different cultures and Japanese culture is quite interesting for me. There is a 4-book free gift bundle bonus to download, too!! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Well Organized History of China, Japan and India
Any attempt at surveying history across such a large geographical region (even restricting it to the three largest civilizations) is by definition an ambitious undertaking. This attempt is one of the more competent attempts that I have encountered … providing enough space to cover the basic relevant facts while avoiding any significant amount of speculation on the why … in other words, this book just tell you the what and you will need to bring your own context to infer any understanding of the cultures presented (a potentially hazardous presumption when dealing with eastern cultures from a western perspective). That said, each of the three (3) sections that tell the story of China, Japan and India were exceptionally well organized and sequentially presented from the age of myths and legends up to present day. As best as I can confirm, all of the details provided are well within the academic consensus, probable a result of the previous stated focus on “just the facts” which only increased confidence on the parts I was not able to easily confirm and added to the reputation of the publisher (now one of my favorite historical sources).

Concise and thorough history of Asia
This book intrigued me because it contains world history of three major countries - China, Japan and India of which I have limited knowledge. This book is both concise and comprehensive - which is not an easy task! The histories are balanced and neutral for the most part (not wading into political interpretation of events). This book is important as a starting point for readers who would like to continue to dig in and research histories and culture of these important world powers. The book provides very helpful context that helps us look at current events through a historical lens. At the end of the China section, there is a timeline and a short pronunciation guide -- I would like to see these as well for the Japan and India sections. Overall, very much worth a read! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Interesting history book
I thought this was a great short history of the Asia (China, Japan, India). I learned a lot of new things I didn't know before. I've only "recently" gotten into reading history books and so far history brought alive has been great. I think this is a great book for anyone interested in history but especially someone new to learning history. I do wish they would put how to say names of places right in the book.I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
