Black is actually Grey - and webcam could have been much better.
Despite the slightly higher price, I chose this to the older version (C920 I think?) due to the better design and privacy cover. This one looks sleeker and has a better privacy cover (the right side is a knob that can be rotated to bring on the privacy cover) than the older one which is more boxy and has a piece of plastic tacked on for a privacy cover. Most reviews indicate the camera quality is pretty similar despite the C920 being much older, to some outright stating it's the exact same - I cannot verify this. The webcam is much better than the one on my laptop and that is enough for my personal use case. Since I have a main monitor with the laptop setup on the side, using the laptop webcam was just not an option as I couldn't use the main monitor or have the webcam angled to the side of my face. This resolves the problem as I can now use my main monitor while being on video calls.Webcam quality was not too bad in my opinion - I know of bad reviews claiming poor quality, but realistically it is very unlikely that there is bandwidth on both sides to support a high quality video call above 1080p - one side usually fails and derails the actual conversation. For most cases, 1080p is more than sufficient. And it is way better than the one I had on the laptop, so not too fussed. I found the default setting to be extremely wide angled, which is not the requirement for a teams/zoom call, especially when you are sitting maybe a feet away from it. I did play around in MS teams to set it up - there are some setting options like zoom that can be used to set it up as per your liking, which is a big plus as my work laptop doesn't allow for installation of 3rd party apps - so no idea what the Logitech default software is like or if it really improves the experience. Not sure why the colors mention black on the product description - this is very much dark grey with specks of white (I dont know why this texture was required) and not even close to black. The privacy cover is a completely different shade as light grey. I got it thinking it would complement my setup that is pretty much all black. A bigger gripe I have is not having the option of a detachable USB-C cable on the webcam itself (the other end is Usb-c). Now I am stuck with a 1m long cable hanging off the back of my monitor as my monitor has a USB port available on the back, less than 15 cms away that is being used to power and connect it. I could have easily got a smaller cable that could have been used to connect, or a longer one if it needed to be connected to my PC. Worst case, this webcam becomes useless if the wire fails for any reason. The stand is okayish - it connects to the webcam using a magnet, though not a very strong one. The stand has a riser to adjust the height/angle to almost 90 degrees - you can tilt the webcam till its almost facing your desk for a top down view, which is a nice to have, especially if sharing notes or drawings. Issue is that the tilting stand is quite tight while the magnet is light, so the webcam is more likely to come off than tilt. You are better off taking it off, tilting the stand to desired position and then sticking it back.I think this is a hit in some areas with other areas needing improvement. Whether this will be a worthwhile spend will depend on your use-case requirements.
