Nice Price, good laptop
I purchased this laptop for my business, and am quite happy with it. Nice size, nice screen, no issues connecting a larger 27 inch monitor to it, for the price it was a great deal, cyber Monday deal, I purchased the 5i which as a backup laptop machine is not bad. I have always purchased dells and macs, as this is not my macbook air quality, neither was the price tag! Will add more memory to it but for now not too bad, and when the windows 10 update killed my desktop machine today was able to grab this and keep on working. So for the price a very solid all around machine.

Small Laptop but Packs Power
I recently purchased a laptop for my mother for her previous laptop was failing. At first glance the laptop is very slim, doesn't feel cheap and feels durable. It may be small but it packs quite a performance. It also has adaptive overclocking so if it feels like it needs more "oomph" it'll push more power. If I had to give a drawback, the back-plate is VERY plastic. I replaced the HDD with an SSD and found out the front area of the plastic cover, near the light has started cracking. Not only that but I've lost one of the pins from the upper right corner. Not a big deal for it's easily replaceable. Not cover under warranty sadly. The BIGGEST issue, which doesn't cause any problems in the long run is the CPU fan. There's only one small fan that pushes out the heat from the upper left corner of the laptop, when facing the laptop from top and the DELL logo facing you. When nothing heavy goes on the laptop is quiet, but when it kicks in you better get used to the sound. It sounds very choppy and annoying. What's worse is when you're in tablet mode the fan makes a clicking/grinding noise. It's as if you're moving a HDD while active. Again, not an issue but rather an issue and probably a bad design flaw. But overall for how much it's worth, it's actually pretty good compared to most others in their range. If you compare the bigger laptops, like HP and ACER they've gone downhill with their quality.

Perfect!!!
I got this laptop as a gift for Christmas. I’m a junior in college at a university and this laptop works perfectly! It is very fast, good at multitasking and is very handy being able to switch to tablet mode. I love watching Netflix on it and doing homework is a breeze. It is also very lightweight and portable. I love it and it hasn’t let me down in any way.

Uncomfortably Hot
When I first got this computer it seemed like the perfect purchase for college. A computer I could take anywhere easily notes and homework, it would be super convenient. For that it works wonderfully, as long as I have a table to set it on.What I never saw coming when I first purchased this computer was just how hot the computer would get. At first when using the computer everything seemed fine, except for how loud the fan was. I kept it on my desk for a couple days and it was all pretty good. The first time I used this computer in my lap was when I was first startled. Within minutes of powerup the computer was nearly burning hot, I couldn't use the computer unless I used a pillow or a textbook to keep the heat from me. Still, I was worried about the computer damaging itself, and so I called the number for the warranty. This is where I have to add that the help Amazon offers with it's purchases is absolutely amazing. I set up a call with Amazon to have my computer repaired, and a woman was able to help me in minutes. After reviewing the problem, she helped me understand the process of having my laptop repaired. She not only provided me with all the information I needed, she stayed on the call while explaining to Dell's customer service what my problems were. I've never had a better experience with customer service in my life. The people I spoke to understood my problem, and after jumping through a couple hoops and setting up a remote control program for them to look at what was wrong with my computer, they sent me a box to send it to them in and had it back to me in a couple weeks.I thought it was done here, the problem had to be gone. But slowly, gradually the same heat problem returned. I've only been able to use it on a desk since then, or in very short spurts on my lap. At this point, I think that what I feared happened and the constant heat has damaged the computer; it feels like it runs significantly slower than when I first got it. Applications won't run, even running a browser will start the almost ever-present whir of the fan, and crashes have become commonplace. Even the login page of the laptop has crashed on me.Overall, I'm just kind of disappointed with this purchase. I'm not sure if every laptop they sell will heat up as much as mine does, but I'd be at least a little wary. This laptop might seem like a steal, but you really do get what you pay for.

And it makes it very easy to flip to a tablet mode if I'm reading ...
I bought this Black Friday for myself. My Well Inspiron 7110 was at its limit and crashed on me! This is a huge difference! So much lighter compared to a 21.3" Laptop. It's a 2 and one laptop, And it makes it very easy to flip to a tablet mode if I'm reading a cooking recipe or watching a show on it. I love how it's easy to take around as well.I was very uneasy BUYING a laptop at first on Amazon.. Since I'm so used to buying things in store.. But it came within 3 days and in perfect condition! I am very satisfied with my purchase! :)
