Perfect for cooking with a wok!
This rocket stove is nice! Pairs well with any of my woks. The bottom door was reluctant to close all the way, but after the first burn this corrected itself somehow. Nice fit and finish and the packaging was worth keeping for long term storage.I've only fired it up once, but this appears to be just what I wanted. Plenty of heat and stability to cook properly on a wok, VERY fuel efficient, fairly omnivorous in terms of fuel and relatively easy to manage the heat while cooking in a wok. I don't know or even care much about controlling the temperature, I want high heat for 5-10 minutes at a time while I stir fry, then a nice bed of coals that can be easily stoked for the next phase of cooking or used for simmering. This does that. It's functionally the same design as the clay stoves traditionally paired with a wok all over Asia. I am not sure how well it can be adapted to cooking western style meals in western cookware, where longer, slower cooking is more common and more control over the heat is required.

Just like the "other", more expensive one
This little guy shocked me. Small, sturdily built. I boiled 2L of room temp water (60F outside) to a full rolling boil in exactly 20 mins then it continued to boil for another hour and 20 mins with a half of a "normal" sized firewood (dry oak split into 1" staves"). Burned very cleanly once it's going. Not much of a roar like other rocket stoves I've used but I was keeping it minimally fed. After an easy start, I put two staves in and pushed one in a little every five minutes. So not much work, just got to keep an eye on it since it has such a smart amount of fuel. I'm sure you could walk away for 15 mins if you cared less about fuel efficiency. Once you get used to the draft door you can probably dial it in even more. With the dradr door closed and checking every 5 mins, I had a perfect boil going. My only complaint is it would be nice if it were a little easier to clean, but it's by no means difficult or worth taking away a star.

Buy it, trust me
The moment I got this thing I started using it in the backyard. It works really well and it's really well built. If you can catch this on sale then don't hesitate. I would recommend this to anybody and I'm pretty picky when it comes to recommending things sometimes. I can't wait to take it camping in a few weeks to give it a good hard test besides cooking small stuff in the backyard.

I'm impressed.
This stove has been going strong for months, using it almost daily for weeks on end. The build quality is nice. The grate is holding up well, as is the liner. You can't go wrong with this stove.

Very good
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Very cool rocket stove that I’ve used camping and worked very well and efficiently. I wouldn’t carry it backpacking. But we drove to our campsite and it was the easiest way to cook by far

Roughing it camp stove and heatet
We use this as a backup stove for our camper excursions and as a heater around the camp and it is built like a battleship. Burns wood, charcoal and heats quickly when your out of propane.
