Well worth the money
I found you really need to take some time to set the wiim up and to get used to the software. It's also important to make sure you are using the latest firmware as the wiim is being updated with improvements regularly. The wiim is very stable with a solid wi/fi connection that so far has not missed a beat. I'm mainly streaming Amazon music HD/UHD via an optical cable (my own not the wiim one) into a separate DAC and it sounds very good to me. The Amazon app within the unit shows the quality of the stream and I've set this at 24 bit, 96kHz and it streams perfectly without any issues. However, I found that trying to stream at the 192kHz setting sometimes introduced some stuttering that I have been unable to resolve at the moment. I will update when resolved.Overall the unit works well and has plenty of features for most to be satisfied with. It's early days yet, but so far the wiim has exceeded my expectations for sound quality and usability. A good introduction to streaming and well worth the money.

Excellent value for money, works very well
I've had the WiiM Mini Streamer up and running for a couple of weeks now. Overall, I think it is great value for money. Easy to set-up on iOS and connect to my Spotify and Qobuz accounts. Haven't fully explored all the available apps or functions yet (e.g., EQ), but enjoying streaming radio. I connected optically to my amp with the supplied cable. Sounds great and I've had no issues with streaming interruption. No doubt I'll upgrade to something more substantial at some point, but if you're looking for a entry-level device to streaming music (as I was) this is worth evaluating.

Great little device, easy to set up
I got this so I could listen to Spotify and Amazon Music on my 'old' hifi system which pre dates internet music. It will do much more than that, including Bluetooth and streaming hi res quality from your 'NAS' or WiFi linked computer, but I haven't done that yet.I was using an old Echo Dot for this, using the 3.5mm jack connection but wanted something purpose made. There's a lot of low quality stuff on the market but this is the real deal.Set up was really easy. Download an app, plug in the device, connect the device to my amplifier using the provided cable and follow the app instructions. It finds the device, connects it to your WiFi, updates itself and then you can link any existing music streaming accounts from the app.I then just set up my Echo using the Alexa app (which recognised the WiiM after a short delay/refresh as an audio device) so that when I tell it to play music, it will use the WiiM as the preferred speaker...and it just worked. No mucking about, very slick.Device has volume and play/pause touch sensitive buttons on top and a tiny unobtrusive status LED.In the box, you get the device (small), a USB power cable (no plug adaptor) a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable, a 3.5mm to phono plugs, and an optical cable. All look decent. Wish I had know this as wouldn't have purchased another cable. It's got an optical output, a 3.5mm output and a 3.5mm input as well as the USB C power socket. It sounds good, I trust it's got good hardware inside it. Now to experiment with some hi res music on the computer...

The best option for the price, overpriced for what it is
Sound quality: WiiM Mini supports up to 192kHz, 24-bit audio output. Most can't hear beyond 24khz. A baby struggles to hear beyond 20khz. As we get older it drops less than 15khz.I connect WiiM to a DAC via Toslink/Optical which provides maximum Hi-Res audio via light. Works as it should.Setup as WiFi receiver: Needs bluetooth for setup. Annoying issues connecting Bluetooth. (Worse with WiiM Pro). With Bluetooth try to connect Bluetooth devices to one and other in different orders usually sorts this. No issues since setup.Design: Small enough to be out of site, smart design means not bothered if it is on show.App: Basic, can be better. Bugs like presets fail to work. Have to remove and add again. Favouriting doesn't work for me.Connectivity to use as Bluetooth receiver: Straightforward. To change output to send audio from any app like YouTube, videos you've taken, a browser etc on an android or apple device via the WiiMs Bluetooth (then sent by optical to my DAC and AMP) - open WiiM app, tap Play/pause area and tap current output to see a list of outputs (see image).

A great Chromecast Audio replacement
Brought the Wiim Mini to replace a 9 year old Chromecast Audio, no longer supported by Google...have to say the Chromecast has been great but unusable with my new router. The Wiim is a great replacement. Easy setup, great sound and links every time. Highly recommend this solid, good looking product.

A proper Sonos alternative for multiroom audio! Amazing!
I've been using Amazon's primitive and poorly implemented multiroom for the last four years, consisting of six Echo Dots and Inputs hooked up to six Nobsound NS-15G amps. It's multiroom on a budget but it worked to an extent. It's nothing like Sonos though (which I have used). I wanted Sonos but couldn't afford their extortionate prices. Just recently, one of the Echo's failed on me and with Amazon removing the all-important 3.5mm jack on their new dots, I needed an alternative and here it is, the WiiM Mini AirPlay2.This little device is magic! It blows the Amazon Echo out of the water and is a serious contender for Sonos. The multiroom aspect isn't an afterthought like Amazon, it's implemented like Sonos. It has all the popular music services including the one I've missed most, Soundcloud! It has Alexa built-in so I can still control it using the Alexa app, and use voice commands etc. The audio quality appears to be excellent and I like the additional EQ control. The WiiM Home app works great! It's well-designed and easy to use.I will upgrade all of my Echo's to these when funds allow. It's Sonos on a budget which I love!

Just works
Bought for kitchen system and can now play vinyl in living room (WIIM Pro) and listen in kitchen. Easy and affordable multi room set up to breathe new life into old(ish) hifi kit. Awesome!
