Electrician's choice
As an electrician of 29 years i have installed and repaired more heaters than I can count. I despise 99% of 120 volt space heaters(1,500w) . They pull too much power for the average outlet. They need a dedicated circuit of their own rated at twice the heater nameplate amps or the wiring gets hot. Rarely are they fed adequately. Now this is a good one!! This is the first one I have nothing bad to say about it. The 5 kw unit has 6 elements in it. If you want to take the time to modify this heater it can be configured from 200 Watt up to 5kw. It will also run on 120 volts at about 1,100 watts. The wiring is simple and bigger than most others. The the bimetal thermostat has a very large differential. It's not precision. I have 3 of them. I personally prefer more manual control over the unit. They have 6 equal power and size elements I added more switches to have individual control of each element. Second i added a panel meter for volts and amps so you know immediately what you are getting. Lastly Amazon sells a p.i.d. heat controller that works great for upgrading the thermostat. And a solid state relay to really dial in the exact temperature and or "dim" the heater with infinite power settings from 0-100%Instructions say ceiling mount only. But the bottom doesn't get warm and it's easy to add feet to the bottom. Solid enough to sit or stand on. I'm hard on equipment and often push things past their ratings. This thing is the only heater I can recommend if you have room for it. It's cheaper and more versatile than the in wall cadet's. I just wish someone would start making them here.

Heater works well - I like it!
The Heater will heat up a 2-car garage in about an hour (from 45 degrees to 60 degrees). The heater is relatively quiet, measured at 60dBA at 3' from the front of unit. Installation is relatively easy, hang the bracket with the screws provided and mount the heater to the bracket with the 4 thumb screws. (make sure you add the wiring first, since the bottom of the unit must be removed, and this is much easier to do on a workbench)

Not very cost efficient to run.
I bought this heater for my garage. It worked great and function properly. Full disclosure I did return the product because of the operating cost of the heater. Other than the cost of the electrical for it, the product was great.

It is dependable heater for a smaller space day around 300 square feet
It ran pretty much 24 hours a day from February to April and believe it will run all next winter if needed

FIRE WAITING TO HAPPEN
EDIT UPDATE JANUARY 2025:The unit has gone rogue and defective. The switches only work when they want to, and recently the unit just shot a literal fireball out and torched right through the metal housing. THIS IS A HUGE FIRE HAZARD, NO RESPONSE FROM THE SELLER WEEKS LATER. Buyer beware. DO NOT BUY!!ORIGINAL REVIEW:Install is very simple. Works great and produces a lot of heat. Enough to heat a 3 car garage in 30 degree wearher. I recommend this unit.

I wanted to heat my garage after having it insulated...
I wanted to heat the garage for use in the winter when doing projects for around the house. The garage was insulated to help with cold winter weather found in the rocky mountain range. This thing works. I have had no issues with it. I did have a full sub-panel on in the garage so the wiring was straight forward. I did use a heavy duty plug rather than fully directly wiring it. I bought a cord and the plug and surface mount box from here:https://www.amazon.com/Leviton-55050-Receptacle-Industrial-Grounding/dp/B00004YUNO?ref_=ast_sto_dpAnd a matching pigtail cord. After that I just followed the instructions. Wiring the cord into the header. Wired and mounted the surface mount box and I enjoyed 1 full winter with a warm garage when it was needed.Since it is mounted on the ceiling I love this thing has a remote. The only issue I have is not the heaters fault.... Not at all. The ceiling is fairly high and the garage is a good size... the heat builds up above me. So I have it set at a higher temperature than I would have thought needed for it to heat long enough to get it down to me. I am considering adding a ceiling fan to try and help improve the circulation. But for me the bottom line is that it works, and does so amazingly well. After a full winter of typical use being only on the weekends it still looks and acts brand new.I do recall in some of the reviews a statement about it being loud or having a grinding noise. Mine does not. Well not after the fan first starts. The first few seconds the fan is louder than during use. But honestly once it has come up to speed, just a few seconds, it is quiet and just hums along.I had looked at a number of options and competitor products. I looked at Kerosene heaters, natural gas heaters, and smaller and larger electric alternatives. For Kerosene I didn't want to have to store it or be able to run out of it mid-way thru a project. For natural gas, which heats my home, I would have had to run pipe to it that carried a potentially explosive material. So that would have have to be hired out and it... concerned me so I passed. The electric alternatives all seemed about the same except for the price and the remote option. This one was exactly what I was looking for and exactly what I wanted.Should anything happen I would get another heater like this, and if possible this same one as a replacement. I would recommend it highly.
