Elf: A Short Story of a Tall Tale Library Binding – October 13, 2003

My family and I love Elf so this was a must buy! My daughter was so excited to get it and read it all the way through as soon as I gave it to her. She's 25 but that's not the point! It is suitable for all ages and if you love Elf as much as we do, you'll love this book!!! Buy it today!!!

Saw reviews that complained it wasn’t about the movie. This book is the book Buddy writes in the movie. It’s not about the movie, it’s about Buddy’s journey to New York. On the small size but a cute little book.

If you're looking for anything like the book at the end, this isn't it. It's very small not the big book you'd think. Just about the only thing that's the same about this book and the movie book is the cover of the book. The story is not the same, doesn't even mention New York or his dad or anything. But if you're looking for a book relating to elf this wouldn't be awful to buy. I actually loved the pictures, the story's not bad. It's an okay book for a child for Christmas. I just wish the book was bigger and was more like the movie.

The product details section says the book dimensions are 8.3 x 10.2 inches. This is wrong. The book is small, and only 5.5 x 7.5 inches. It is also a completely different book from the one they showed in the movie, even though the two books have the same title and a very similar-looking cover. This product is incredibly misleading and very disappointing.

The book is a mini version of a full sized book. The size listed in the description is wrong. The book is 5.25”x7.25” and is much smaller than expected. The size would be fine (sort of an Elf inside joke) if there wasn’t an additional illustration indicating the size of the book. The book is 14 actual pages including the title page. This comes to 28 pages front to back. The actual story focuses on how Buddy got to the North Pole and other events outside of the movie. The story takes place completely in the North Pole and explores how Buddy was reassured that he was truly an elf.

I really can’t believe the negative reviews! I’ve read this book twice now to a group of kids of varying ages who were all enthralled with the story.Yes, the book is smaller than expected, but it’s elf-sized! The story has a nice message about being different and learning to accept one’s unique abilities. It veers from the movie in that it doesn’t go into the story of Buddy’s visit to NYC but it is still a nice story and has similarities to the movie.

This book is based on the Elf movie however it is a smaller sized version that focuses on Buddy the elf. I have seen that there is a regular sized children's story book that follows the movie but this version of the Elf movie is just as good. Shipping was fast especially when Christmas was approaching so thank you. Highly recommend as a children's book.

I saw this as the cover from the book in the elf movie. I bought it for my students thinking it would be his story of how he journeyed to the city. Its not, its a very short story with almost no character development except for a sharp turn in the characters outlook on him being "Special"
