Mastering Essential Math Skills GEOMETRY Grades 4-6

I love this book. I teach special education math at the high school level. I use a textbook issued by my school, but I needed something else to supplement the text for further understanding. This book is perfect. It is simple and clear. Very straightforward. Each page has review exercises (which I use as a bell ringer), then the lesson, then a word problem. So it gives you a little of everything in a neat and tidy format. For my students, repetition and routine is important, and this allows for that. They know what to expect for each lesson. It covers all the necessary topics for my students. For more advanced geometry, this may not be enough, as it does not go into detail or goes over the more complicated skills in geometry. However, for my students and class this is perfect. It is basic but fits my purpose well.

My son who will be moving into 6th grade this fall, likes this book a lot. He completed the book in about three months. Great content. The degree of difficulties went up step by step. I highly recommend it.

I've used a few of the Fisher math skills for my kids and have to say that for the most part, they are great, particularly if you get the DVD/book combo where there is a short segment to watch and then a page or two to follow with the book. He is a good teacher and reinforces the previously learned material. What my one complaint would be is that we've come across several mistakes and when I tried to reach someone through their website, I never received a reply. It's unfortunate when your child is learning something and the given answer is incorrect; the editing hasn't been thorough enough in checking answers to all the problems. Having said that, though, if you help your kids this shouldn't deter you. We've been happy with the program overall. Also, I'd love to have the DVD option for every book.

Excellent book with all types of problems. Working with my 4th grade grandson.

Looks brand new and is very useful

I bought this book for my son to work on over the summer. He actually liked enough he started it before summer. I am awful in math and am actually able to understand this book and answer questions when my son needs help. The examples given are clear and concise. I highly recommend this work book!

Great book to help my 5th grade son with geometry.

We got this to help our son but the instructions for a lesson are non-existent. It presents several terms without context and then asks a series of questions. As a family we chuckled as we tried to understand what it was asking us to solve. Then the answer key had an error for the first lesson. It doesn't inspire confidence.

I’ve ordered a few of his books, I’m prepping for a aptitude test I’ve found them all amazing. The lesson plans are so good and breaks it down easily.

This book really helped my son with his Geometry unit. Sure makes Geometry easy to understand! Highly recommend this book!
