Great sim with lots of data and good network coverage
I am using this sim right now in HK and it's been working great. Inserted the sim on the plane, upon arrival you get a SMS with a link to register the sim since real name registration is now in effect. Followed the link and it opened a web page with the sim no. already filled in. After registration, I couldn't get any data initially but it started to work once I switched the APN from 1010 to SUN Mobile. I now have data everywhere I go, even when on a boat in the Sai Kung area. It uses the CSL network and is much better than what I had used in previous trips (China Mobile and 3HK.) The face value of the card is indeed much less than buying on Amazon, but to me having data upon arrival is well worth the cost paid especially considering the 50G of data and speed you get.One thing I noticed, however, is that the "built-in" plan doesn't seem to include SMS. I was not able to send SMS but have no problem with calls so possibly it requires additional funds added and purchase of a SMS package. This is not a problem for me though since I use Whatsapp to message friends and family. I highly recommend this sim.

One worked one did not. 179179 customer service won't answer phone after hundreds of rings
One card worked great and another didn't work in Hong Kong. We needed these for qr code and health reporting. Phones are newer iPhone and we had no issues with install and use for one. It is not user error. Calling customer service for hours of ringing. Support doesn't exist. These are $7 usd or 38 hkd and you are paying 9.00 or so for seller to deliver to u in the USA. Fine he or she earned it... except when card doesn't work!!!!! Fail. And no refund possible. Be aware this is an Indonesian language card but there are chinese and English rudimentary translations.

Works perfect! Great Value!
Activated before leave for Hong Kong. When arrived here, it works perfectly for local phone calls, checking email, accessing internet and map. Installation fairly easy.

Works as advertised
Easy to use. Works as advertised. A little expensive but worth it as you won’t need to worry about losing connection to internet or friends upon arrival in or transferring at Hong Kong. Sure, you can get this at a lower price at local retailers.

Didn't work for data or texts. Don't buy. Waste of money.
I've successfully used a SIM card for Europe recently with my iPhone. But this SIM card for Hong Kong did not work. When the SIM was inserted, it connected to the Hong Kong 4G network and I received a text in Chinese (no English). But I was unable to text others or receive any data. I tried multiple locations and times, including in the middle of the night while jetlagged to make sure it wasn't an issue with the network being too busy, but I was never able to transmit data such as emails, Google or Apple maps or any other apps. There was no tech support in English. I ended up using my US plan (Verizon) at an expensive $10/day.

Phone card worked like a charm!
I set up the SIM card before my trip and started sending SMS from the US to my relatives who live in Hong-Kong and they got my messages just fine. As soon as I landed in HK I immediately got connected to the CSL telecom and was able to use the data and make phone calls. Will buy again next time I visit Hong-Kong

Does not come with a small pin to change your SIM card
Dismayed at their packaging and feasibility of changing the SIM card. How can we change it when you don’t include a small pin like other SIM card companies do? Very inconvenient

Misleading ad
2000 minutes with 10 months span! Which means you only actually get 200 minutes per month, that is you need to add money to the sim card to keep it activated. Well, worst of all, it’s not like you can add money online or call, you have to buy the money voucher from only 4 or 5 vendors in Hong Kong, and then jump through hoops in order to add money to the SIM card , then you can select your phone data/call plan. I suggest just get a SIM card when you get to Hong Kong.
