Very simple to use and build. Was anticipating something far more complicated.If you’ve ever installed the bottom piece of a backplate for a Nintendo switch, this is significantly easier.The only con I have is that there is a fat LED module by the battery and that foam piece that clips in where I could see too much pressure being put on the ribbon cable they gave. There’s also a lot of tension on the part that wraps around and sticks to the top by the trigger buttons.Take your time, have the right tools and be slow. The instructions on their website are far better than the instructions or video for backplate removal.@Extremerate if you guys could design something that powers on when the joycon itself is turned on, and has built in memory, that would be better. But this is still a really cool improvement for anyone playing primarily in docked mode.

The media could not be loaded. The instructions for this product are some of the worst I’ve ever seen. They’re not clear at all, there’s way too much going on in the picture instructions to be able to even focus on anything at all.. and to make it worse, the video on YouTube is also terrible. I was attempting to disconnect my battery like I saw them do in the video, and it went terribly wrong. I’m now unable to play my switch until I buy new jot cons because when I was trying to disconnect the battery, the white and red cables popped right out of the little square piece and they absolutely will not go back in now no matter how hard I try. I’m beyond frustrated with this company and the terrible quality of their products along with their instructions. I bought a hair trigger kit for my ps5 controller last year from the same company and it took me almost 5-6 hours to complete it SOLEY because the terrible quality of the pieces they send you and the AWFUL video instructions. I will 100% never buy another product from this company again. I was willing to give them one more chance to redden themselves after the hair trigger kit and they blew it. Would give 0 stars if i could.

This is a good product, with a high skill ceiling for installation that I do not recommend normal people try. The product is of decent quality, and even if one or two of them fail, the company is more than willing to work with you to try to problem solve issues during the installation. They will even send new LED parts if one doesn't work like it's supposed to, you just have to email them through their support link (they will usually get back to you within 24 hours). So the service and raw product I mark highly.Where I will offer a serious warning is the installation itself. This is not an entry-level mod, and even if you follow the directions closely, you can easily mess something up and end up with a controller that (A) doesn't close properly, (B) doesn't work correctly, or (C) closes and seems to work but doesn't charge. Combine that with the fact that you will have to take apart the entire controller to install this, including disconnecting all of the delicate ribbon cables and unplugging the battery and wireless card, and you have yourself an install that even a tech could mess up if they aren't paying attention.It's not impossible to do this for the first time if you have no experience doing mods, especially if you follow the video closely, but understand that a first-time attempt with little experience will take you at least 3-4 hours to accomplish, more if you're being extra careful. Trying to rush it faster than that will most likely result in failure. That said, it's a cool product if you do the install correctly, isn't that expensive, and combined with the company support can, with difficulty, be completed by a first-time modder.

very easy to install, plug and play with no sautering and they even have several videos on youtube explaining how to do it. the only problem i have is that my right joycon led isn’t working upon installation but they have a warranty so i’m just waiting on an email reply. very good kit none the less for anyone to make their switch something personal to them.

When I initially installed the LED set the left side lights did not work, though the right side was fine. Everything else in the set was in good working order. I contacted customer service, and they immediately sent me a 2nd set. That 2nd set also did not work! But customer service was very helpful, and communicated quickly, and the 3rd set they sent finally worked, and I am happy with the results. The buttons look cool with the adjustable lights, and make the joy-con unique

The end result is amazing and a very fun mod to do on the Switch joy cons. But it is not the easiest to install, so take your time and have plenty of patience going into this one!

Instructions could have been clearer even with the video i struggled a bit but the main problem was that after i finally had them installed they worked for about a day and then stopped working. Installing them was way too much work for me to try to take them out though. I'll probably just dump more money and send them in to a seller that will install them themselves. Edit: the seekers have been kind and helpful and the other products that I've gotten from them have worked and everything has seemed high quality

I've had to purchase 6 of these over the span of a year. When the LEDs work, they are awesome. But when they don't, it's always due to the cheap construction of the LED ribbons. They suck. I have to swap out and order new LEDs every 2 months. I want quality LEDs, but not the CONSTANT hassle of having to buy more to swap out because the one installed just wants to stop working. You can't repair them or jury rig a repair, so if anything goes wrong at all, it's toast and you need a new set of LEDs.I would give it more stars if i didn't actually hate these things when they stop working, which is often. I'd give it less stars, but since they actually do work for anfew days, i think at least 2 stars is fair.It's a cool gimmick, but after i order this last set, i'm done with Extremerate LEDs forever. Just not worth the hassle and the cost over time.

The quality as usual from extreme rate is top notch , as is the video , i will say this was a little difficult , but just be patient and take your time , and keep things organized. Theres lots of small parts in these controllers , especially the left one , right controller seemed much easier

The media could not be loaded. Das einbauen geht wohl recht gut.Ich habe 3x die LEDs verbaut. (Langzeittest wäre sinnvoll gewesen)LEDs flackern, defekte LEDs schon nach kurzer Zeit. Farben lassen sich nicht mehr ändern bzw. bleiben gleich.Tasten sind minderwertig sehen sehr schnell ranzig und abgenutzt aus. Taste -+ ist viel zu tief lässt sich schlecht betätigen. Auch die anderen Knöpfe sind zu tief. Wer da noch eine Schutzhülle drum hat kommt garnicht an die +- Knöpfe an die anderen auch eher schlecht.Im großen und ganzen ist es viel zu teuer. Für den Aufwand und Preis. Vorallem wenn etwas kaputt geht ist der Ärger groß. Lasst es lieber, das ist es nicht wert. Im Nachhinein hätte ich es so lassen sollen wie es war. Werde jetzt versuchen die Dinger wieder aus zu bauen was aber schwierig wird weil ich versehentlich eine Schraube rundgedreht habe. Seit da vorsichtig.Sieht nur in den ersten Wochen gut aus dafür 1 Stern.
