Good book on belt making.
Good illustrations and good directions and instructions for how to make belts. I believe is written it is written by an Australian so this American had some problems translating those Australian metric measurements and terms but otherwise a great book.

A fantastic resource for any leatherworker or hobbyist bookshelf.
Another outstanding book by the author. Well written easy to follow book on making various kinds of belts. There is a great emphasis on why a technique is used which allows the reader to transfer the knowledge to other projects easily. High-quality and detailed photos are included for each project which helps the reader see the end results of the instructions and is a great resource for visual learners. A fantastic resource for any leatherworker or hobbyist bookshelf.

Great reference, lots of good info
I've recently been surprised by the number of people who don't know what to look for in a good belt or much less where to find one. If you're interested in leatherwork or dabbling and looking for products to make and sell or gift to friends and family then this is a valuable resource. Armitage starts with the basics covering necessary tools and leather types and then moves on into techniques.A range of styles (12 projects) is covered. The individual components can easily be mixed and matched to satisfy a lot of needs or even artistic style. Money well spent, especially if you like learning while flipping through the pages of a good old fashioned book.

The SECOND most useful book I've read on leather working
The most useful book, was Nigel's first book, "Traditional Handcrafted Leatherwork Skills and Projects". Nigel is the preeminent authority on this topic and one heck of a good teacher. This book gives very thorough instructions on how to craft 11 different belts and 1 very useful fitting tool.If you have any interest in belts (come on, you know you do) you should buy and read this book. Even if you have no intention of making your own belt, it will be an education into what you should look for in buying one. And, if you are just plain interested in quality workmanship of any kind, Nigel Armitage is your guy.
