These two Ultimate Math Survival Guides Parts 1 and 2 get right down to business. They teach the essential math skills that are needed by all students. The best thing is that the topics are introduced and taught in an easy-to-understand manner that all students can understand. In the past, my three kids struggled, but not anymore. They actually love math now, which is a miracle in itself. The lessons are organized in a logical sequence, with each one building on the next. The short review section that is built into each lesson ensures that students retain what they have learned. The video tutorials taught by the author, Richard Fisher, are superb. For students who need that extra little boost, they are perfect. The students don’t just watch, Mr. Fisher gets them completely involved, and they are fun. Free access to ALL Math Essentials video tutorials come with the book. It’s like having a math tutor on call 24/7. These books are the perfect solution for students who have gaps in their math knowledge or who have struggled in the past. We all know that STEM classes are important, especially with all the new jobs requiring strong math and science skills. Without a doubt, these books will make sure that your students have the math necessary math skills. With the book and videos combined, a great value!

Very easy to read, just wish there were a few more challenging problems.

The Ultimate Math Survival Guide Part 1 is a great systematic learning tool. Coupled with the free videos posted on the companies website, the material is phenomenal. At first, each page appears without instruction and as though there is not enough material to learn the exercise. But...each new lesson is systematically set up to concisely build upon the previously learned lesson(s). In doing so, the student practices repetition from past lessons while learning the new lesson. The key is reading and re-reading the "Helpful Hints" section. The "Helpful Hints" section IS the authors instruction. I uploaded many pictures from different sections, circling the different areas of instruction. There are not lengthy pages of instruction to read. Simple instructions with short practice pages and repetition that builds upon each previous lesson. When purchasing any of Richard Fisher's materials, you are able to go to his website and watch the related videos. The videos are typically 5-6 minutes long and are labeled by section so you are able to determine which section you want to review. To add icing to an already excellent experience, when I called the number on the website, my call was promptly returned in less than 30 minutes and questions answered. Very delighted with material and customer service. I will buy the series as my 6th grader progresses. :)

This has been the best math curriculum - my math-loving boy loves it, and so does my math-phobic boy. The videos are wonderful, on-point and easy to understand, and each lesson is manageable, not overwhelming.
