2 years in and the product is still going strong.
There are many similar items like it. I got this particular one based on structural limitations of my patio railing posts. It was reasonably priced in view of competing products at the time. If you have wooden railing posts, this might be a better fit for you than for me. Nonetheless, I got it because I had a DIY project (I have plastic railing with steel support inside the posts). I setup two flat pieces of wood that were fastened (via machine screws) to the inner steel post (drilling and tapping was involved). Then, I screwed these umbrella holders onto the wood. It has been working as intended to this day 2 years later. Ah, any metal exposed to the elements can rust. I sprayed a protective anti-rust coating on exposed metal (this includes the metal screw that you tighten to hold the umbrella in place). CAUTION: Close or remove your umbrella during high winds (e.g., sustained 10 MPH or gusts 20 MPH, if you have a smart phone you can check for this on the weather app). There is a good chance that the winds will either strip off the holder or break off your entire railing.

Works Great!
These Meruzy Umbrella Holders work GREAT! We used them on a small office deck, it freed up more space on the deck which we wanted. We placed them on a large wood post and didn't have any issues with any of the screws breaking. One of the holders is for the top so the umbrella pole slides through the hole the other piece is for the bottom and has a closed end for your umbrella sits in, both holders have a stemmed knob to turn and tighten the umbrella securely. The steel is very well made and sturdy. It holds a 7.5 foot umbrella and what's nice is we were able the put the umbrella at the height we wanted it! These are great, don't hesitate to buy!

Sturdy and heavy duty
These are solid! And they keep my umbrella in place even in wind. Definitely recommend!

Awesome Idea!
Saves lots of space on your deck from those huge, intrusive sand/water bases. I LOVE this simple but effective product! And it’s heavy duty. Great product. (A little expensive for what it is though)

Pricey but it works
I put up 4 of them on my deck and they work great!

Solid Quality
This is quality. I’ve grown cautious with all the junk Amazon pushes these day. I anticipate this holding together for a very long time even in a wet environment. I plan to buy another so I can move the umbrella between the 2 locations with ease.

I love this!
I was trying to figure out a covering for my deck. This allows me to use an umbrella when I need it. Very easy to install.

Poorly designed for installation
First of all this product did not come with any installation instructions but that's okay because I know how to build and improvise. The bit that was provided to drive in the screws does not fit across the barrel so you will have to hand screw these in or find different screws it's a really poor design because the barrel exceeds the width of where the screws go. I just went ahead and got some one and a half inch deck screws and threw away the cheap ones that came in the package. The cheap ones were too easy to strip and were too short to be secure enough. I got 2-in self-tapping deck screws and used an extra long Phillips head bit on my drill. If you try to use the screws they provided with the bit they provided you will be very distinctly disappointed. Even when I used my ratchet with their bit it didn't work. I ended up improvising on a couple of screws and then went to the straight deck screws. Note: I'll have to paint over where their bit chopped away some of the powder coating.Other than that the item feels fairly secure and strong. Also I might mention that the width of the barrel will accommodate a lot of different umbrellas. Where I installed it, there is a tiny bit of an overhang which takes up a half an inch of the barrel and I was still able to fit my umbrella in.
