Excellent for Gilding Projects
Used this for my thesis project. Not too hard to use, but make sure that material that you’re trying to gild isn’t tacky at all or it will also stick to stuff you haven’t put the adhesive on! I didn’t even think about that when I did mine but it still worked out alright. Also, be careful with the glue because if you spill it it’s so hard to get out of fabric. But that was definitely user error lol.

Beautiful shade of gold
The media could not be loaded. The finish is an amazing gold color. The quality of the foil sheets is better than others I tested out and what you get goes a long way. The kit instructions were easy to follow between spraying and applying the foil to the super sticky adhesive. The sealing solution worked great too. Shown is what 1 kit of these got me coverage wise, which seems fair for the small size of the kit. I did have to order a second kit to finish. This was my first time using gold foil and I’ll admit that I was intimidated by the process but this kit made it super easy to do.

Not the best
Not very easy process. I’m giving it 4 stars but I really felt like 3.

A beautiful technique
I applied it to an art piece. It is not easy,You need to be able to pick up the sheetPreferably after you pass the brush through your hair once, this will attach theDelicate but beautiful gold leaf sheet to it to then take it to where you need to apply it to. It will twist and turn till you get the hang of it. It flies away so make sure youAre not close to the a/c vent... or a fan! I have used it on furniture ot is a bottle easier unless you want to to detail an art piece. But I love it anyway!

Easier than expected
I expected this to be a drama project but it wasn’t that bad. I read an instructional video on instructables.com and then gave it a shot.First I painted the statue (which was originally silver leaf) with saffron yellow craft paint (not included with this kit) in case I missed a spot. That’sa top from the article I read. Then applied the glue, waited 15-20 min, and applied the gold foil, brushing it into place.I used a brushing motion on the flat areas and a poking motion in the crevices. It came out great! This project took about 18 sheets of foil.I haven’t applied the clear top coat yet, but I’ll be doing that next.Note: I had no idea what the enclosed spray bottle was for. Then I figured out it’s for the clear top coat. Directions were mixed. I said 1/3 water to 1 part clear coat on the bottle, but the box said 1/10 water to 1 part clear coat on the box. I used the 1/3 and it went through the spray bottle fine and dries quickly.

floating gold
I'm in the middle of the road on this one. One reason is because I've never used gold leaf before and maybe I did something incorrectly. PRO: the kit contained everything listed.CON: (1) The bristles shed from the brush as I was cleaning it. (2) The gold foil goes all over the place; clothes, floor and it is hard to sweep up.You get what you pay for.

Very Nice Product
Easy to follow instructions that result in a very nice guilt gold product. There are plenty of gold sheets to do either a very large project or a number of smaller ones. Easy clean up as glue and sealer are both water soluble.
